Iowa is one of the “realistic” home run hires lsu could poach a basketball coach from. Same with Nebraska, St. Louis, etc. comparable programs

This talk about stealing from St John’s is silly.

He's from Iowa so probably not.

Hoiberg is from Lincoln. Amazingly, as a NBA player and as a coach for 30+ years he's worked in states that all touch.

St. Louis

Pretty sure he turned down Syracuse

Shertz is probably my top choice.

Utah State's Jerrod Calhoun and New Mexico's Eric Olen are also right up there.

Yeah, almost definitely. He'll be a home run hire wherever he ends up, I think.

Why would we be poaching from Iowa, Nebraska, or St. John's when we're already poaching from NCState?

Freddie has sent leaving Lincoln for Baton Rouge. The Nebby job is in his blood (his grandfather Elias the coach back when), the only other place Fred would coach now is Ames and ISU is pretty set with the current dude.
