I bought one last year. Didn't mulch well with the factory blades but the Oregon Gator blades fix that and are cheap. I cut a quarter acre (with a lot of turning and mowing around shite) in about 35 minutes. I've had to tighten the belt up a couple of times to keep the tip speed up but that takes about 5 minutes. If you're scalping it doesnt do as well as a direct drive but still works. I'm happy with it.

I've looked into them, think what's stopped me is the actual cutting time isn't that much reduced unless you can minimize turns and they can be more maintenance needy. Think the Toro and Cub Cadet models are just badge swapped, the lighter duty models don't have the power to mulch well if the grass gets a little too long but the heavier duty models weigh so much more that they can be a chore to maneuver. I'd probably be better off with a small stand-up zero-turn but the price is hard to justify.

I have one. Little heavy but good mower. Use side shoot attachment if in moist grass.

Have had one for almost 10 yrs now. Great mower, have about the same size yard. Was just taking too long with regular mower. Make sure you stay on top of maintenance and it will work fine.

Go to Ivy’s if near BTR. On my second Timemaster. My ex has my first. Neither mower has been in the shop.
Get the commercial / bigger motor if mulching
