Has anyone ever swapped out their high-end appliance, i.e. dishwasher an an example, for a standard new model before listing their home?

My current dishwasher is only 2 years old and perfect, and I want it for my new build. I’m thinking about replacing it with a basic new model before we take photos.

The buyer still gets a new appliance, and I get to keep the one I like.

Thoughts? Smart move or too much of a headache?

It's not hard to install or move a dishwasher but this seems pretty cheap. Why not buy a new dishwasher for the new house? How much are you going to save?

To replace my current dishwasher with the same make/model, it would be $1600 plus tax.

2 years ago, I paid $1252 for this same make/model.

Hell I'd say it's worth it to save $1000. I doubt anybody will look at the dishwasher and decide that they don't want the house.

Swapping them is easy. Youtube shows you how. I've replaced an old dishwasher before selling the house with a new but cheap model.

No, I do not think anyone would notice nor care if you have a cheap dishwasher in the house you're selling.

Yes, I think it's more of a headache to actually do.

If you're into saving money, why not? I don't think a "high-end" appliance adds much value to a home in the grand scheme.

The amount of time you are going to spend making sure the new dishwasher fits perfectly and getting the old one out and new one in with new trim so it looks "built in" just isn't going to justify the cost savings. Leave it and buy a new one.

I did this with a high end kitchen faucet.

But, never got around to installing in the new house. We remodeled the kitchen and went with another style.

Donated to Goodwill after many years in my garage.
