Protestant-Only Religious Service at Pentagon

The Pentagon chapel has historically offered both Protestant and Catholic services on major holy days.
But the Pentagon held a Protestant-only Good Friday service, with no Catholic observance, breaking long-standing practice and triggering national coverage.
It drew attention because the Catholic Church is one of the largest religious groups in the United States. Roughly 60–62 million Americans identify as Catholic, making up about 18% of the U.S. population.
Not Catholic but went to a Catholic school. Have many friends still that are. Don't get this. On one of the holiest days in Christianity, when we should be coming together, praying for our troops, giving thanks to our Lord for all he gives us, this is divisive and reeks of revenge politics.

Yes. And the context of the article, and your assertion, are correct.
Point was the Pentagon chapel has traditionally offered both Protestant and Catholic observances on major holy days, including Good Friday. Catholics don’t have Mass that day, but they do have the Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion, and the chapel has historically provided that or another Catholic-led Good Friday service.
That’s the context behind the reaction.

i don't pretend to know what goofy schit protestants do on good friday, i always assumed it was just another friday for them, like ash wenesday is just wenesday.

Catholics have a Good Friday observance. The Communion is consecrated host from the Holy Thursday Mass.

Most of us recall a lot of ancient paintings and statues depicting naked people (Gods, mythical beings, creation, etc.) and they had fig leaves covering their genital area. Those fig leaves were added by the mandate of the Catholic Church back in the 16th century.
