Would a good range work in BR?

Little range out near Memphis, TN. Mostly off mats with traxkmqn. But they also have a grass area you can chip and hit some irons off.
Also a putt putt.
Inside is pretty barebones: cashier, snacks, and beer. Nice lights outside.
Not trying to be a restaurant, just a nice range.
Could that work in Baton Rouge?

Golf suites off Siegen has the range with trackman. Given is actual location I don’t know if a putting green would survive with that much water and lack of drainage.

Hell, I would give a left nut just to have the driving range with the hollowed out huge golf ball in the middle on Airline.

Many thought Blue Bayou could work here as well.

From it’s opening until Covid it did. Imagine being a business owner that works three months out of the year, makes a ton of money, and doesn’t reinvest or properly maintain the business and still profits?
Now since he has gotten older and more crazy I think he is seeing the writing on the wall. It will be run by a different operator, word is he is actually selling aome of his assets too.

We’d rather you make it work over here.

I'm not sure about that exact business as there is already a "golf suites" here.
But.......a nice public range with grass and mats would be great here. Since we lost Sonny's (i think that's the name), there are very few places to go to hit balls from grass.
Someone here might be able to answer for me, but does Santa Maria allow hitting off of grass anymore? I haven't been there very much since they put in the mats and those times that I did, it was mats only.
There's the place off of sherwood too, but I no nothing about it.

The Legacy. It’s OK and has lights, but they do a horrible job of maintaining the grass and their golf balls are terrible even for range balls.

I don’t know the exact schedule at Santa Maria, but I’ve notice they’re on grass on some midweek mornings, and every other weekend according to a guy in the clubhouse.

I'll tell you what would work in BR just like it has in Shreveport.
That is a David Toms 265 Academy.
Young players are developed and fantastic all encompassing practice facilty for all levels of play.
Also a 9 hole par 3 course with distances 65 yds to 140 yds. Great for short iron, scoring wedge development.
Then there is a 4 hole Loop...a par 3, par 4 and par 5 that can play short or long.
Great concept for development....Sam Burns, Carter Toms and Philip Barbaree, among many others than earned college schollie were developed at 265 Academy, and BR would be an even better location for a very similar facility.

My daughter is going to play Collegiate Golf at Centenary and they have full access to this and we got to look around during her visit and it is extremely impressive and yeah. Wish we had something like that in BR
