Recommendations for Making the Most of a Weekend in Manhattan?

Staying in Newark May 1-4. Attending a concert outside Newark the evening of May 3, but have all day and evening open May 2, the day on May 3, and the day on May 4. Want to pack in as much sightseeing and experiences as possible traveling into Manhattan. Any suggestions to make the most of my time?

Plug what you want to do and accomplish into one of the AI chat boxes and prompt it to give you an exact itinerary based on most logical routes for efficiency and timeliness.

I think Roy's suggestion about getting a decent itinerary is a good one. For a place like NYC, while it's possible to get from one place to another pretty easily, it still takes time. So you wouldn't want to go to Central Park then the staten island ferry for a view of the statue of liberty to a Mets or Yankees game. I guess prioritize what you are interested in (broadway, mets/yankees, breweries, statue of liberty, ellis island, central park, WTC memorial, chinatown, etc) and then figure out what's near one another.
One thing i noticed is that you're staying in Newark/NJ for the trip. I'd probably suggest one day taking the path from Newark to downtown which is where the WTC memorial is. That's an easy trip into the city.
Another day you may want to take NJ transit from Newark Penn Station and go to NY Penn Station to get to times square/midtown a little easier than the Path
What things do you want to see or do the most while you're there?

We're interested in checking out the Statue of Liberty (by ferry), Wall Street, the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridge areas, Washington Square Park, Grand Central Station, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, Central Park, the Met, and maybe a Yankees game. But I know that not all of these sites may be impressive in reality, so I'm looking for the ones to avoid and maybe some slept on sites that might be worth checking out instead of or in addition to. Also interested to know the best way to access some of the above sites as well as maybe any worthwhile third-party tours of them.

Statue of Liberty (by ferry)
$32 to pay to go to the island, staten island ferry is free just make sure you get a viewing spot on the correct side of the boat. I'd do staten island ferry and then take it back to the city right after. Leaves from Whitehall terminal in lower Manhattan. This is very close to Wall street, WTC memorial, and walkable to Brooklyn Bridge. I'd try and do lunch in chinatown, little italy, someplace down in that area as well. Maybe plan a day in that area of the city combining these things
Second day, take NJ transit to midtown, walk to times square, rockefeller center, grand central, etc. Metropolitan museum of art, museum of natural history are near central park so if its a rainy day those are good activities. From grand central or times square you can get out to Citi Field or Yankee Stadium pretty easily. Looks like the yankees are in town 5/1-5/4. Daytime game at 135pm on sat 5/2 and sun 5/3 (only $29/ticket for sunday)

Are any of these sites to be avoided--like, less impressive than otherwise advertised?
Any sites not on the list that you recommend checking out?

NY has so many things to offer. To each their own, but to me the 9/11 museum is extremely underrated. I would recommend the Empire State Building, but go at night. Also, I'm a baseball person, and the Yankees are in town then.
A Broadway play is great, but not the top of my list. Other secondary things are also neat like the New York Philharmonic.

May want to consider a day trip to tour West Point which is absolutely gorgeous this time of year.
If the weather is nice the Circle line cruise is fun. We visited the USS Intrepid on a recent trip. Went to top of Empire State building at night and there were no lines.

The Natural History Museum, the Met, the Cloisters, the Staten Island Ferry, walk the Brooklyn Bridge, Broadway show, pizza and dim sum are my quintessential NYC to-dos.
But there are so many. I’m considering putting together an Egyptian tour of NY for this summer. So many great artifacts.

Pick one museum, one restaurant, one building, one tour, (you already have the live entertainment), one store, one active thing to do.

Thoughts on this tentative itinerary?
SATURDAY
-(Before noon) Battery Park ferry to Brooklyn Heights, then walk across the Brooklyn Bridge to Chinatown and Little Italy
-(Afternoon/Evening) Midtown - Grand Central Station, Rockefeller Center/Top of the Rock, Times Square
SUNDAY
-(Before noon) Midtown - Central Park
-(Evening) Sayreville (NJ) - Starlight Ballroom
MONDAY
-(Before noon) Midtown - The Met
Alternate options (haven't figured out how to squeeze in yet):
-Greenwich Village/Flatiron - Washington Square Park, Flatiron
-The Bronx - Yankee Stadium
I'm also trying to plan for the best night skyline view/experience Saturday evening, which will be my only shot.
