That is kind of like askings who is the sluttiest stripper. They are all pretty original: Star Wars, Aliens, etc.

It was certainly the first good, original movie in a long while. Everything is a remake or based on a comic-book character, or a historic character (not that those movies aren't good). I loved D-9. Saw it twice. And I'm not a sci-fi person.

does it hold up the second time around? i loved this and i have been afraid to watch it a second time around in case it fell into that 'second time around sucks' category

Of the decade, most definitely, but all time, probably not.

I just got back from seeing it about 10mins ago. fricking sick for sure the best movie of the summer so far. Just shows that you dont need a 200 million dollar movie to make something great

Star Wars was based on The Hidden Fortress.

District 9 is based on many different movies and TV shows:

Alien Nation

Twilight Zone

V which was based on a Twilight Zone ep.
To Serve Man

etc.

i loved the movie. if you don't pay attention to the "don't be racist, apartheit was bad" messaage its entertaining and original. i'd see it again.

Yes, its better the second time, because you pick up on how all of the interviews take place after the fact much more clearly, and what they're saying in the interviews makes a lot more sense the second time around.

Awesome flick.

I think there's an animated hamster movie showing if you'd rather try that one.
