True or False

I say true because it will be bend but don't break defense but LSU won't score much either

It would be a better over and under question.
I'll say over due to inexperience at many positions, tougher OOC schedule, and better offenses in our division.

what I'm hoping for this year is if LSU can actually sustain some drives to let the defense rest

The best defense is a ball controlled offense.
Given our ability to play pitch and catch, run block and pass protect, I'm going to go out on a limb and say with little returning experience at the WR and RB positions, we won't sustain many more drives this year compared to the last.

ug I hate bend but dont break defenses on a team that can't sustain drives. Such a bad combo.

I'm not feeling good about this season right now.

I say true but only because I believe they take a step back this year. Some of their turnovers do not turn into touchdowns and they do not force as many turnovers as the previous season.

Im not worried about the defense. Basically where we got hit most is at LB. However we have a LB specialist in Chavis and he will make them a good unit (plus big things are expected from Baker anyway).
The DL did not produce much last year and the best player at each position is back imo in Nevis at DT and Edwards at DE. We have a lot of talented young guys ready to take on bigger roles.
The secondary is a strength despite CJ leaving. Great corner combo and enough talent at safety that makes me confident whoever wins the jobs will be very good.
To sum up: we'll be fine on D and the offense can only go up. Cheer up

False
It will be less than that. I have a good feeling about this year.

I will feel a lot better if a rb steps up

Right now, true. I think the defense is solid, but if our offense fails like it did last year, they won't stop anybody major in conference, not to mention WVU.
If we can move the ball like a BCS school, our defense could easily allow less than 18 per game.

Where did the Saints D finish this past year?
No, don't turn this comment into something it's not. The D just needs to be opportunistic.

I'll say under. The D-line should be better, I think Chavis will do a good job with the young LBs, and the secondary will be about the same or maybe slightly better.
I'm much more concerned about the offense next year, but seriously, how much worse can it get? If it gets any better at all it will help the D by keeping them off the field more than they were in 2009.

Outside of Bama and Arkansas, what team will be that much better of offense? I say this due to most teams we play will be breaking in a new QB. Unless you have an outstanding running game I think a new QB hurts.
I think our defense will be fine.

quote:tell that to Charlie Weis. ND was in top 10 of T.O.P. during his tenure, and his defenses still lost him games.
