(Not just the best player we lost but best player lost vs. incoming player)

I'll go with Trindon on returns. Teams really feared him.

Easily replaceable position.

Perry Riley--and it is not even close.

I dunno... Chad Jones had a sub-par career, but he had so many clutch plays this year, it's gonna be interesting to see who can replace him. Not so much as a safety, but as a clutch playmaker... I think PP will, but we will see.

i'd say there is a pretty good argument here. Our starting field position will probably be 5-10 yards back from where it was this year. Even if he didnt return it teams kicked it short and Kelvin Sheppard took it up to the 45.

Ill go with Perry Riley though.

I thought about saying LaFell for a second because of his veteran leadership and supurb route-running skills, but then I watched highlights from the 2008 Fla-LSU game and watched him drop several clutch passes...so while he will be missed I think that there's room for someone to step in and provide the same productivity there.

PP is light years ahead of CJ in terms of value. CJ made some huge plays last year, but also some really bad ones. PP to me, was a playmaker all year, minus the Bowl Game. He is a lockdown, who gets limited opportunites, but makes the plays.

When PP leaves, there is no way we replace him immediately.

You must have missed the Ole Miss game this year

Good point on the Ole Miss game as he wasn't up to par. But even said, he had two bad games. I personally thought CJ was decent all year, but nothing more. Having said that, he did make a couple of huge plays that seem to overshadow how weak he was in coverage.

I'm gonna go with Chad Jones. Chavis likes that FS position to play deep and have range in the defensive backfield. Right now Craig Loston is maybe the only player IMO capable of playing that position and maybe Eric Reid also when he gets on campus. I think Baker will do a good job of replacing Riley and DeAngelo Peterson should take over for Dickson at the TE position IMO instead of moving back to WR. Barksdale moving to LT is a good move IMO giving Faulk another year to improve before he takes over that spot. There is talent at the RB position but no one has proven anything in my eyes, so there is a little uncertainty there replacing proven backs in Charles Scott and Keiland Williams. I would like to see Ford in ace and I formations and Murphy in the shotgun and spread formations, using these 2 as a duo and maximizing their strengths on different plays in different formations. Terrance Toliver and Rueben Randle are probably one of the best WR duos in the country now so losing Lafell doesn't hurt that bad. I think Russell Shepard eventually wins the return specialist job and does great there.

Dickson...there is a reason he wasn't at the combine folks. The dude was absolutely sub par as far as TE's go.

every year the same question is asked...and every year each player is replaced...only stand out players who havnt quite been replaced in the past few years would be Matt Flynn, Jacob Hester, and Glenn Dorsey IMO

Charles Scott did a pretty good job, it all boils down to oline play anyway. Running backs are overrated

Scott did a decent job, but i doubt anytime soon a player will contribute like Hester did. Players like that only come around once in awhile.

Harry Coleman, IMO...he was pretty much the only pressure we got on the QB last year

I agree with you on Trindon. Most people don't realize how huge field position was for us in many of our wins last year and that was all attributed to Trindon's returns. Arkansas and Georgia were two games that come to mind quickly that we would've dropped without Trindon.

gotta go with this....Hester was by far the most difficult to replace last year...Coleman kept things going on D...I think Jones will be missed more than anyone thinks...he came up with big plays in the clutch...I know his overall career wasnt spectacular but dude was money in the clutch...and thats what you generally miss the most...
