Seems like everyone wants this guy. Does LSU stand a chance of luring him here?

God I hope so. He would be a walk off grand slam in the bottom of the 9th.

I hope LSU gets someone else besides him. He is a ground and pound guy with play action and little to no creativity in what he does. I would prefer someone that is multiple.

Gary Crowton is going to Maryland.

He was at Oregon State and wasn't ground and pound there. The ground and pound at Wisconsin shows he can adjust to the players/recruits available.

I know, good for him and better for LSU. I still don't want Paul Chryst, his Big Ten offense is not exciting, we don't need any more predictability than what we've had to live through the last 3 years.

KUNKA...
Read his Bio on the Wisconsin link please.
Tolzien, who entered 2009 with eight career pass attempts, led the Big Ten in pass efficiency at 143.0, the third-best mark in school history. His 2,705 passing yards were the second-most in school history. Tolzien completed a school-record 211 passes and his completion percentage of 64.3 was second-best in the conference, 14th in the country and third in school history.
Chryst was offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Oregon State in 2003-04. He helped the Beavers rank No. 6 nationally in passing yardage per game (328.1). The 2003 Beavers became the first team in NCAA Division I history with a 4,000-yard passer, 1,500-yard rusher and two 1,000-yard receivers.

as long as les miles is our head coach, our offense will be conservative and predictable

No way to this dude. Run's at a near 2:1 ratio. Even in the SEC that is too much. I have to question how developed his passing game is. Anyone can throw the ball when you rip 5-6 YPC against those Big 10 teams.
It's more a credit to his personnel than it is his play calling. They have some talented RBs, and prob the best OL in the nation.

Sadly this is almost certainly true and is the reason I'm not jumping up and down now that Crowton is gone.

Already did and that's common knowledge. Make no mistake about it that Mike Riley has always had his hands heavily in what the offense does at Oregon St.

And fwiw, I find mauling and running over a defense at will and then throwing the ball over their head to be quite exciting. People like Kunk would be all for running the ball 60 times a game if it is from a spread, but doing it out of the I is "boring".

I think Chryst shows he can run the football just like Miles wants it and can be successful doing it. I think it also shows his versatility and how he can open things up in the passing game and be sucessful there too.

bullshite. we were not conservative or predictable in 2007. Les needs to lewt the OC do his job, and I believe he will, when he truasts the OC.

Who would be your top candidate for the job that we would even have a possible shot at.

So he gets no credit for being balanced at Oregon St but the Wisconsin offense is absolutely his style and isn't at all based on the preference ofthe head coach or the type of players available to them in recruiting?
Makes perfect sense. Really.
