It's like someone took everything the rant has been trying to say and put it into a well-written, well-researched, stat-backed, credible publication. I don't know what to say, except thanks.

His three-TD performance in the Cotton Bowl was an anomaly, as he threw just seven TD passes all season to go with 10 interceptions. Instead of growing into the job after a so-so sophomore season, Jefferson regressed.
Not true

Thanks for the link. Love your avatar pic.
I thought a very revealing part of the Miles quote was that he double stated the need to correct "footwork". I'm excited about the future of LSU football.

So you're saying he didn't throw 7 TDs last season? Explain please

He regressed as a passer but he became a great read option runner and a good traditional option runner as the season went on.
JJ will play next season even if it is a RP type role from the '07 year.

2 against UNC
0 for 7 straight games
1 against Bama
1 against Ole Miss

If mett isn't better than Jefferson then a championship is out of the question. We need atleast average qb play to win the sec and Jefferson has proven he is incapable.

This is not 1988. Bowl game stats count now.

And 3 in the cotton bowl, for a total of 7.

So bowl games don't count now? Because clearly he was referencing the entire season, as noted by having him with 10 INTs, the total after the bowl game.
I know he was terrible, but TheDoc always feels the need to bitch about something. 7 TDs and 10 INTs is bad, no need for him to be dishonest and try to make it worse.

Can't wait until LSU implements the new schedule with a month between games. Les will never lose another game.

BTW, I was saving you the time of waiting on what The Doc was going to put, if he did answer at all.

LSU coach Les Miles told reporters that the Tigers "want to come out and throw the football. We want to throw it more efficiently. And we want to throw it more times."

"I have to have a fundamental quarterback coach," Miles told reporters when discussing Kragthorpe's hiring. "A guy who can take a quarterback and say, 'Let's talk about your footwork, let's talk about your eyes, let's talk about where your hand [is], your footwork, throwing motion, where your shoulders are' ... all those things."
Miles also hinted that LSU's quarterbacks were thinking too much and not just reacting.
Not a ringing endorsement of 'ol Gary.

Reading the article, it sounds like Les hired Krag specifically to clean up JJ's mechanics. If he can, JJ's dual capabilities would make him the best QB for LSU next year.

Sorry but maybe JJ's best attribute as a QB is running and read option. But he is not a great read option quarterback. He to better as a read option as the season went along but it is not natural for him. He does not run with eyes looking down field. He tucks and runs as soon as his first receiver is not open. He has yet to really grasp the 2nd and 3rd receiving option other than just the dump off. And he misses to many reads to be a "great" read option. I hope that a light went off in the Cotton Bowl and he comes back and plays like we have never seen before. I don't wish him any ill will. I don't care who starts as long as the one starting is the best player at the position and as long as the competition during spring and fall is fair and not predetermined.
