I grew up where the ICW and Bayou Lafourche meet. We used to fish near pontoon bridge in Larose and do well at certain times of the year.

I remember someone saying they caught their limit of specs near Nicholls somewhere on this board. Maybe you can try there first.

No, gonna try and go this weekend. I know several people who went and caught over a hundred. What did you catch the last Saturday of Feb? Myron said he saw you pass, I went the other way around. We ended up killing 18 rabbits on a floaton by sam's pass, went to the camp and cooked them. We ran out of beer real fast though.
Dick been catching a few bass in the lake too.

Been catching the shite out of the sacolet forweeks now they have slowed down a bit this past weekend. Was catching like 50-75 per trip but this weekend i had 20 and then 12. Plan on making a frogging trip friday night. Are there any frogs in the 40's. Are you fishing the steve classic on sat.

If someone reported that they caught specs by Nicholls, they were lying through their gums.

THere usuaLly are frogs in the forties. Got a bunch in the crawfish pond. Didn't know steve's classic was this weekend. Will try and do some fishing and frogging this weekend to load up the freezer.
Coon, there was someone on the oil spill board that said they limited out on specs near Nicholls. I don't remember who it was. I am going to put a gill net behnd my house to keep them from migrating north toward you.
Original poster, there is fish all along the bayou. Just find some cut grass and start fishing.

No shite. Ive got family in the Thibodaux/Raceland area. When I was little my grandfather used to take me to Nicholls to fish off the pier and feed/chase the ducks. There's no way specs would be that far inland.

If I could catch specs behind my house i would literally fish myself to death.

I know they have bass in there though.

Some folks call sac-au-lait "specs", b/c the are speckled. I'd guess that's what they are talking abt.
