Those are pretty sweet, but I think I can deal with rust more than I can deal with that $150 price tag.

How much are those? Can't click the link. I'd probably lose them like every othe pair I've owned.

I have been using a pair of Shimano ss pliers for 10+ years. They get a little surface rust from time to time but a little wd40 and a copper pot scrubber takes care of it.

I got a pair of those when they came out about 10yrs ago.

They're still going strong. I have a case for them with a lanyard so I can't lose them.

Not bad being that most fishing pliers seem to be overpriced IMO

I dont trust aluminum hand tools. The metal is just too soft, necessitating the steel inserts. The nickel plated steel inserts and screws are going to rust quicker than SS and the SS bottle opener insert kind of defeates the idea of not buying ss and buying aluminum dosent it?

I didn't even look at it, just assumed it was all aluminum. frick that, what's the point if they plated steel on it anywhere, that shite doesn't hold up near water. Just give me a big chunk of stainless, I can buff the rust off when necessary.

When I buy tools, I expect them to handle everything I throw at them. A 8/0 circle hook with a 25 blue cat on it will damn sure put those pliers through the ringer. Assuming of course you don't have girly wrists or a limp fish handshake.

Pliers for a 25 lb cat? I use my teeth until about 45 lbs.

I have the browning fishing pliers and have been very happy with them. Have one set of each boat and another in the bag. They have lasted 4 years. A little corrosion x once a year and replaced the cutters on two of them. They list for $50, but go on sale twice a year at bass pro for around $25.

best pair of "fishing pliers" i ever bought was a pair of X-Tools hybrix X pliers (bright green floating pliers), but you cant find them anymore. I heard they were bought out by Berkley. No rust and i haven't had any issues with them in the past 4 years. Not bad for $15
