To give Texas time to conduct a search. He would retire effective at the end of the bowl game.

Seems to me Texas would shoot for a huge proven name coach.

Texas is perhaps the best job in the country, no way they would settle for Diaz.

ok who do you think they would get?

It's not long ago they were going to give the job to Bryan Harsin once Mack was done.

Wouldn't throwing a bank at him kill him? Banks are pretty big IIRC.

And if they have someone who can throw a bank at him, maybe he should be playing football for Texas.

I'd make every good, established CFB coach turn me down if i were texas.

call nick
call gary
call les
hell even call stoops just to piss off OU

coaching at a place like texas is more about being an effective administrator rather than being a genius on one side of the ball or the other.

Great point. If any school could do that it would be Texas.

it doesnt take long to call the agent and gauge some initial interest. i even understand there is this thing called multi tasking where you can call one guy while waiting on another's reply.
