And Kiel will be QB coached by a great one!

Glad Crowton isn't here to ruin him

If Crowton was still here...we wouldn't even be in the running for Gunner. He wouldn't have given LSU a second look.

The talent at his disposal is scary. Rueben Randle will have the option of returning for his senior season where he would be projected as one of the top receivers in the nation. Russell Shepard and Jarvis Landry, a junior and freshman respectively, are former five-stars poised to fulfill their lofty expectations. Meanwhile freshman Odell Beckam is emerging as one of the top young playmakers in the SEC.

Apparently Kiel has already beat out Mett for the Starting job next year

Is Mett really that good? IMO Kiel is the most college ready kid in this class. If he was coming in the summer, I would think it'd be hard for him to beat out Mett but as a spring enrollee, I could see it happening. Part of me thinks if Mett was really that could, he would have been on the field this year. NOt like he was a true freshman.

He does have a point there.

... and if he doesn't he could transfer.

It must not be very tough to write for a recruiting site.

LSU is now a true pro style offense with a very good qb coach since the departure of crowton. no way we would have landed GK (or be in the BCS championship) if les had not made changes to the offensive staff after last season.

I doubt Les wants a true freshman starting for us, especially with the Talent we have coming back. That Learning curve is to steep.

Mett can barely get reps because of the more experienced guys on the roster so I dont think this guys comig in and starting day 1

truer words have never been spoken. i can't express how happy i am that les canned crowton enabling our football team to forge an identity and move forward filling in the best players to fill the roles we need. right now, i think LSU has the best coaching staff in the history of the school.

While this is big for Kragthorpe it will also tell us down the road if he is a good judgement of talent that will work at the top level of college football and then can he take this young man and make it work. To me this is what will be interesting 12, 24, 36 months down the road.

Now lets just pray his health holds up. Thanks for everything Coach Krags and Les for making the move that needed to be made. Great time to be a tiger.

Gunner clearly gave embargoed info to many press sources. He showed a lot of maturity and savvy.
