NBA NFL NHL and MLB only

I think we have to go all the way back to the 98 Red Wings? or 95 Cowboys?

There have been other loaded teams like the Lakers with Malone and Payton, early 2000s Braves, Colts in the mid 2000s that didn't win it.

Is it just because of free agency that we don't see teams like the 98 wings any more?

I'd classify the Kobe and Shaq Laker championship teams as loaded. Same with the 98 Yankees. NFL has too much parity to have a team classified as "absolutely loaded", the 07 Patriots probably would have fit the bill if they hadn't choked it away.

I mean, a lot of teams are "loaded." It just depends on how you look at it.

2009 Yankees
2007 Patriots
2010 Lakers

Those teams were all stacked with talent. They are the last three I can think of in each sport.

I don't think there's been a truly stacked team in the NBA since the mid '80s Lakers and Celtics. Let me go through the list of teams that have won multiple championships since 1988.

Bad Boy Pistons- Had no top 50 NBA player outside of Isiah
Jordan's Bulls- Had no center
Hakeem's Rockets- Won with one great player who was surrounded by tremendous role players
Duncan's Spurs- Does anybody see this team beating the great Lakers and Celtics teams from the '80s?
Kobe/Shaq Lakers- Was a two man team
Kobe/Pau Lakers- Had Derek Fisher as their starting PG. That automatically disqualifies them.

I don't think a team has to be great at each position in order to be considered loaded, especially at a position that doesn't mean very much for that particular team. The extreme depth at other positions makes up for it, in my opinion. The Lakers were a team that relied on its incredible size, and the shot-making ability and sometimes creativity of their 2-guard. Their size down low happened to be made up of one of the greatest front lines in NBA history, and they had the 2nd greatest 2-guard in NBA history. On top of that, one of the top two greatest coaches in NBA history. To me, they were loaded.

But like I said, this really is a question that will release a lot of different opinions.

Shaq and Kobe are 2 of the top 10 players ever but they didn't have much else.

07 Patriots were not loaded they had maybe 3-4 elite players tops, same for the 98 Yankees

95 Braves team had a minimum of 4 future HOFers on the roster with Smoltz, Glavine, Maddux and Chipper. Add in Justice and Grissom in the outfield, McGriff at first, Avery as the #4 starter and Lopez behind the plate...

So two of the best ten players in NBA history on the floor (out of five total) doesn't = loaded? That's 40% of the team on the floor that is considered top ten players ever.

i just turned 30 and thats the best nfl team ive ever seen.

and to be honest, the 2nd and 3rd best teams would be 2 that didnt win a super bowl, the 98 vikings and 07 pats

Just because San Antonio plays a boring style of basketball doesn't mean they couldn't compete with the flashier teams of the past. Those were complete teams with talent spread all over the floor.

And you're saying the bulls weren't complete? They won 72 games one year...that's more dominant than any of your other teams. Additionally, they had the best player ever, and another who is def. in the top 50. Add in the worm and you have plenty
