As for the other 11 starters on each side of the ball, consider the spring the first round in an audition that will run through next fall.

QB battle last year. That statement does not compute.

I bet you live a miserable life constantly dwelling on the past. Let it go.

Tis not dwelling simply to observe that CLM is saying one thing today, and did something different last year with the quarterbacks.

QB position is different from any other position. Takes time to learn the system plus you had two senior QB's. Do you think Mett knew the system well enough to take over? Maybe, maybe not, but it would be a difficult decision that I'm sure not many coaches would pull the trigger on.

As much as I wanted Lee to remain the starter, he wasn't lighting the world on fire. His minimal passing advantage over JJ wasn't enough since JJ could run. The arky game proved that.

You didn't get a first down in the first half against Georgia. How fricking hard is it to pull that trigger?
seriously. even if its only one series?

Mother of God. Some people just can't let it go.

actually....it does. JJ won the battle in spring and fall. JJ got suspended and JL took over and did a decent job and got away with some mistakes until the Bama game. JJ stepped in because "the staff" lost confidence in JL. Mett, for whatever reason, was not deemed ready and the rest is history. we all wanted the fairytale ending for JL and some of us wanted a strong finish for both....reality stated that there would be no fairytales endings and we stumbled, as a team, at the finish. hate it....love it....accept it. life geauxs on and we will be load to handle in '12-'13.

The UGA game the next week proved JJ was absolute shite. 25 yards...It's over, let's all move on.

To be fair i still think they play who they think is best. Also i dont think they were confident in any of the qbs on the team. Mett has now been here for 1 year. He wasnt going to trump 4th and a 5th year player. Zach today isnt zach of last spring. Oh and if you dont believe me then bring up the articles where his teammates praised him. They didnt, they didnt even know him.
Im def looking foward to seeing how the lbs take shape. I havent seen enough of jones to believe hes got that spot locked down.

THIS!!! Those who don't learn from the past are destined to repeat it.
The only way to predict future expectations in anything is through historical reflection and analysis...that is unless you're some kind of a psychic.

Let's just say , maybe we the fans don't know all that went down with Lee and Jefferson. Let it go people. You will never know all that went down. Miles is a guy who keeps it all in house and out of the media for the most part. He is a proven winner and has a good chance of having LSU back in the SEC and BCS championship games. As a fan who was in the stands throughout the '90s, enjoy the success of the program. If not for having to play a re match game, we would be looking at back to back possibly.

Actually what it is 20/20 hindsight and personal bias by you and others that keep harping on this. Just because a player at one high profile position is not good does not mean his back ups would have been better.

Great point, next time we play Alabama in the BCS CG Les Miles should not play Jordan Jefferson.

Did I miss something or is TE still a position on the field? I'm sure chase has it wrapped up but who is the backup?
