we have been with Howard, Dempsey, Donovan, and Bocenegra for years now and for all four of these guys, this is the last hoo-rah. we have some good young talent, and i see Bradley as our guy for the next 6 or 7 years. as i said we have good young talent, but who is the future?

Jozy-23
Boyd-21
Corona-22
Shea-22
Agudelo-19
Hamid-22
Luis Gil-18

and Fabian Johnson is 24, along with Bradley

Bradley. The beginning and the end of this list.

Jozy and Fabian are the next tier. Fabian looks far better at the moment.

I'm not writing off Boyd but if he was some forward for an MLS team we'd be shitting on him. His touch in national team games has been AWFUL. Shockingly bad.

Shea has had like one good performance for the national team, and Agudelo can't seem to lock down a starting role for an MLS team (hopefully that changes with Chivas).

This isn't Howard or Dempsey's last hurrah.

I think he meant this series of world cup qualifying and the world cup itself.

I see at least Donovan retiring from international soccer, possibly Dempsey too after all its done. Howard though is going to be on for a while

Dempsey is gonna be 31 in 2014, i doubt he is still playing in 2018.
Howard is gonna be 35 in 2014, i don't even know if is gonna be starting or if Hamid will be

~same age as Donovan and Dempsey

Still think Howard has a number of years left, might push 2018

world cup-wise, this could definitely be Dempsey's last hurrah. Howard's older but he could be around for 2018.

Most GKs retire internationally long before they retire club.

I.E. Friedel, Van Der Sar.

But, i'm going to bed. Night peeps.

Probably would be a better backup to Howard than Guzan and Hahnemann are right now.

True, but we're preparing for the long-term. I mean, Brad might be done with the game totally by the time WC2014 rolls around. Never know.

I'm not sold on either of the backups, though.

Thank you for supporting the cause

I think Gatt should be on this list, along with Gyau. Bradley will be the face of US soccer soon, but those guys will be good backup.
