How do you 2wd guys do it?

I just got done replacing my front locking hub in my truck, and feel like I won the lottery 
It has been so long since I have felt the safety of 4wd. I was tired of making ruts all over my yard, and I have mud tires too. A $225 locking hub and 3 minutes was all it took to save me.
How the hell do you 2wd guys do it? How do you get to the camp, or drive around it? Do you get stuck in wet grass ever? Boat ramps?

My previous truck was a 2wd 4 door long bed F350 single rear wheel. Replaced with a '12 F250 4x4. I'll probably never go back to 2wd again.

2wd dodge with a cummins = stuck in wet grass
2wd f250 gas burner isn't to bad to get stuck but I have some pretty aggressive mud grips on it. It wouldn't matter what tire I had on the dodge its is just too light in the arse.

I have a 4x4 and could count on 1 hand how many times I've engaged it since I've bought it and I do most of the stuff you said. If you're a non-retard you can easily get by without it.

Oh so you're that guy? The kind that assumes people buy 4x4s for looks and stickers.
Imo even if someone only uses it once or twice a year, its handy as hell. I use mine a good bit but I guess that makes me a retard

Nope, I have it for when I need it and like you said, once or twice a year is worth it.
I'm just responding to the op who makes it sound impossible to live without. In my last job I drove through mud literally every day and I can remember once needing it (like needing it needing it). As long as you're not hard core off roading, you can get by without it using a little precaution...

Yeah, I used to have to mud ride for work every day. Most of the time it was in sticky clay.
I guess having a heavy diesel motor in the front makes it much harder to get around. I had to rip up my side yard the other day just trying to get out. I was sitting in two low spots though. I almost got stuck another time moving a boat around in my back yard when it was raining.
I know you can get "some" places in a 2wd. Just gotta hit it at 40mph
I had two Tacomas before the F250, and those things could get it. I had swampers on one of them, and most places it was just like another Sunday drive in the park. This diesel sucks in the mud. Way too much turbo lag to finesse it around. It is either zero, or 100mph. Only two choices.
I still couldn't imagine having a 2wd. I like the fact that I don't have to think about getting stuck.
My next off-road upgrades are gonna be a Detroit in the back and an Ox locker up front. Then I will be a real 4wd like a boss

We had a guy with a 2wd at our camp. Sometimes he couldn't make it to his camp and someone would have to haul him and his groceries in. I am not gonna be that guy!

I've got both. My work truck is a 2 banger. It will get stuck in a puddle of dog piss. If you encounter mud you best stand on it.

I farm and go thru muddy or plowed fields daily and have had no problems except pulling loaded peanut wagons out of the field. Normally I have to have a push but so do the 4wd's. I have a 200 gallon fuel tank in the back of the dodge and it still just spins. It sucks cause it's my favorite truck to drive.

In my own time, I've never needed a 4x4. My 2wd got stuck in sand once (driveway wasn't marked), but even a 4x4 wouldn't have helped. My work truck is 4x4 and I rarely engage it, and I'm off road a lot.
But I don't have a camp, so there ya go.

I got a 4x4 diesel and treat it like a 2wd. I've gotten it stuck and it's not fun.

Got stuck once in sand and another time in really soft grass/mud, both times was only because I had to stop. As long as I have momentum I'm fine. Never needed it at a boat ramp
As long as its a road of some sort I can usually make it without problems. Just not towing anything through mud.

I don't consider it a life saver, but I do damn well park where I please. Comes in handy for noobs trying to trailer my boat, parking in the shite for home games and rooting it up when the time comes.

I have an F150 Crew Cab with 35 inch BFG M/Ts and I think I've used my 4wd a total of five times since I put the tires on. I have enough ground clearance and grip to get through most stuff. It's nice to have though!
