This is, by far, the toughest WCQ stretch we will have in the entire hex so hopefully we go into it at full strength. Excited to (hopefully) see LandyShades back in the fold again. Also hope that JK isn't holding some grudge against Dempsey for the MLS move because we need him in.

Will be very interested to see if Aron makes the squad for these as well.
Heck, the whole squad is full of intrigue.
First choice defenders, back-up CMs, wing players (starting and back-up), and back-up FWd.
Lots of 23-man squad spots up for grabs and this call-up may tell us a lot about the pecking order that Jurgen sees right now.

I think we're past the point in this cycle for Jurgen to make some kind of point by freezing a player out

Trivia - When was the last time that Donovan and Dempsey both played in the same game?

I wouldn't be surprised at all.

Well, in any case, that would be pretty shitty

Not sure which game it was, but it was in that same WCQ period when we started with two friendlies (got raped by Brazil in one and scoreless fraw with Canada) and then played two WCQ games.
Like June or July of last year.

Right - The latest one I found was the 1-1 tie at Guatemala. They were together for a 3-4 game stretch then and then you would have to go back to the Bradley era. The last time Dempsey, Donovan, Bradley, Altidore, and Howard were all in the starting lineup was the 2011 Gold Cup.

Yep. Of course, Tim Ream was too.

Fun times, Eric Lichaj was the LB of the future while Johnny Bornstein made his last hurrah.

Any word on JAB? Heard he got hurt last week.

Yah. He was subbed off midway through the first half last weekend. I'm honestly not sure about the severity of injury, but everything I've read suggests Jurgen will hold a place for him.
The real question will be, is he ready to fully commit himself to the stars and bars.

He said all the right things during the Bosnia trip. Seemed fully committed.

It was kind of odd, I was watching the match and he got subbed off in like the 22nd to what they initially called an injury, but then they tried to say it was just tactical. Who knows, he was playing well, though. If he was hurt, it's nothing serious.
