Only 8% of Americans make over 100k. I'm wondering what percent only work 40-45 hrs.

Yes. Know several, all of them own their own business, or inherited a family business.

The only 2 I know who I am actually close enough with to know their work hours both work about 50-55 hours a week on average. So not outrageous, but it does take work. Unless you own a huge business that you are able to hire people to run, making a high salary will likely take more work and more stressful work as well

Laffy. At both links. At some point I'd hope you wouldn't be working more than 40 hrs a week. And 100K is really, in my estimation, possibly upper middle class.

It depends. Making 100k as a single male would have you feeling like Upper class. You could have a nice place downtown, nice car, and take vacations without worry with your friends anytime you want

I make more than that and I am hardly balling. With health insurance premiums, self employment taxes and private education that really doesn't leave much left.
