How far is your land from Baton Rouge?

You are asking this question backwards.

Who hasn't done this?

I don't think I have. Only squirrel as far as I can recall. I had a sweet spot off Nicholson. These days, if I am going to a game, it's an all day deal. No way for me to get a hunt in then drive to BR.

A little over an hour. Out of the duck blind by 9 (that's late for me), clean up and leave the house by 10, on campus by 11/1130. I only do this for crappy games like this weekend.

Used to do this all the time before Auburn games. My senior year we used to go shoot wood ducks before we started clinics for the day at 8 or 8:30. This was much easier to pull off when we were in food animal rotations and only had to have a khakis and a scrub top on.

I used to do it all of the time and hunted 1.25hrs away. I also hunted probably 3 times a week making that drive too.

Most fun was when we'd go duck hunting/morning drinking in high school and shoot like one or two birds, and be drunk for the first couple of hours of class

I do it every year and have been for several years. I don't bow hunt though, but i will be on some tree rats until gun season opens for deer.

During the LSU vs Notre Dame bowl game last year.....it was a blessing. Sat on the bank of a dried up pond with my son and had a six point walk straight at us to within 12 yards...saw other deer as well.

Have done many trips from Lake Arthur slaying fowl to BR for the Bama game. Usually dragging arse since it's usually opening weekend and Friday night was spent drinking and taking shite for being a traitor.

When I was in college, opening day of duck season was the same day as the ole miss game. Never missed either. 5 hours from
Oxford and 3.5 hours from Baton Rouge.

Me. A lot. When I look back at my college days I often can not fathom how little sleep I got. Between work school and hunting it was incredible.

check

I have duck hunted north of Mer Rouge, Louisiana in the morning and made it to Baton Rouge and Ruston for evening football game.

I had a designated driver to the LSU game - alcohol is the only think keeping me awake.

That was a long time ago.

How 'bout get up at 4.30, hunt ducks in NW La (hour drive round trip to and from the lake). Get home, shower and make the 250 mile drive to tiger Stafium for a night game.
