Ascension. Especially if you have kids. I would stay away from HWY42 though as traffic can be an issue.

I've only lived in LP, and I work in AP
I don't usually see the extremely rural areas of either parish but both have their share of trailers, white trash and drugs
I think traffic is better in LP. Schools are probably about the same
