My wife and I kind of recognize it, but we don't spend any money on this Hallmark Holiday. I handle breakfast for the kids, so she can sleep in a bit. No cards or gifts. Maybe cook a little nicer of dinner with some wine.

The only exception is that I will send some flowers to work if it falls on a weekday, so her coworkers don't think she has a bum of a husband.

We usually go out and eat somewhere nice on Valentines but we don't enhance gifts.

We always exchange cards. Go have a nice date night usually (not on the actual Vday though.....usually a few days before or after).

Our friends treated us to a coupe nights in DC at the Capella and somewhere, not sure of the hotel in NY until Wednesday after we took them to Iceland. So I didn't have to do anything this year other than order room service. Our friends ordered us a bottle of Dom 2003 rose so that was a nice surprise this morning. Getting on Amtrak around 5 to head to NYC

Not really.

I bought her some cupcakes that look like a boquet of flowers.

I think she got me a card, not sure yet.

Florist hate a Sunday V day, because like you most send flowers to her work , so that she can have something to show off

yes...it's a huge day and it's a must that i'm on my relationship a-game.

my v-day checklist:

flowers from albertson's
an open heart pendant from kays
acknowledge her existence
pretend to listen if she speaks
reservations at outback
wear my boxers with the red hearts on them
gaze at her lovingly while eating our shareable dessert

We keep it to a minimum. We use it more as a day of being together and enjoying each other's company, but not going out of our way to spend tons of money

That being said, I did have to get my mom a card, some candy, and some flowers

That's a good checklist skillet.
I'm gonna add little checkboxes and use that next year.
