A lot of guys have had success in both places. But, that success doesn't always translate to another job. Herman at Houston is no more than what Sumlin did there or Jack Pardee. Personally, I feel better hiring Coach O because his last two interim stops have been at extremely high profile places under tumultuous circumstances. Herman has some good wins at Houston but also some terrible losses. Herman looks a lot like Les Miles coming from Okie State in that regard.

So Chris Petersen is a big disappointment since leaving Boise, right?

Just damn. Try Google first, next time.

Herman has been way more successful there than Sumlin.

I didn't say he wasn't. Read what I said. I don't have to name every guy to recently coach at Boise or Houston to make my point. But, Herman isn't Briles.

Its not at all like Boise State. Boise State's coaches are usually grown in Boise. Herman had plenty of other stints that weren't at Houston before he became a household name. For instance, he was really good as OC at Ohio State.

He might but where's Dan Hawkins and Houston Nutt? You made my point.

World War Two was a lot like a shopping cart, 'cause they both had metal and wheels and sometimes squeaked.

He never had a winning season at Ole Miss, and if you think thats an "extremely high profile" job, then you've got to be kidding.

You think Herman was the only OC who would look good at Ohio State?! Are you serious? What Herman did at Rice is more impressive than what he did at Ohio State.
