Please explain the 6D Chess reasons for all the Lies from Trump

Once again today Trump was proven to have been lying when he claimed that he got a call from the President of Mexico and that he got a call from the head of the Boy Scouts. Sarah Sanders admitted today that he never received either of those calls and her spin was that he was referring to in person conversations he had.
I'm not trying to make a big deal about the lies themselves. They are just two more examples of self inflicted wounds by the President. I just want to know, from his supporters, why they think he keeps saying these little white lies that are easily disproved. Either he's some sort or habitual liar or he has some weird strategy I'd like you to explain.
Here's the exchange with Sanders today for those who may question if she really admitted that.

"They were direct conversations, not phone calls," Sanders said.
"So he lied; he didn't receive a phone call," the reporter asked.
"I wouldn't say it's a lie. That's a pretty bold accusation," Sanders responded. "It's...the conversations took place. They just simply didn't take place over a phone call. He had them in person."

The explanation is simple. Trump isn't very smart and tends to ramble. Those two traits combined tend to produce lies.
Remember when Miles lied about the 09 ole miss game?

Cleaning up the Voter Rolls, deporting MS13, immigration way down...REAL Immigration Reform, I.e., vetting people who come here for WORK instead of WELFARE...or worse.

BTW, are we pretending that this is the first administration that lies and misleads.
The only reason it is more salient is because our journalists tend to not care when democrats lie.

For anyone who voted for and/or supports the prior administration, this is chicken feed.
At least the conversations happened in person.
Millions of Americans are waiting for their $2,500.00 per year in savings from ACA.

Millions of Americans have such a high deductible that they really never even use their insurance.

Heck no. That's why I'm asking the motivation or reasons for it. Political spin (lies) are a political tool used by every President ever, but you can at least see the strategy behind the lie. I knew someone would bring up "you can keep your doctor". They lied to push legislation and you can see why they did it. Doesn't make it right but at least there's a reason behind it. What's the reason behind these stupid lies like the Boy Scout thing? Doesn't make sense.

If this were Obama the press wouldn't even bother asking about it. They certainly wouldn't sit there and say "the president lied" at a press conference.
