Kind of a spin-off from the RDR2 delay thread. When do you think they will get around to it.

Later this year marks 5 years since GTA 5 was released. It was 5 years between GTA 4 and 5 I think.

With RDR2 releasing this year, there is no chance for 2018 and 2019 looks doubtful as well.

Maybe GTA Online is making them enough money.

I read they were brainstorming stories now, I wonder if all the #metoo is going to kill some of the possibilities and it goes a bit PC?

That is my big fear. I read once they are making more on the micro-transactions than the game itself.

I am thinking the #metoo movement stays out. They need to develop it in a bubble though, away from the world.

They’re probably going to sit on RDR2 for a couple of years or so.

#MeToo happened back for video games back in like 2013 which led to the internet shitstorm known as Gamergate. It was pretty much started by Anita Sarkesian, renowned giant bitch, who went to town on every gaming company and they somewhat obliged, which led to less sales. Then there was a political clusterfrick on Twitter and Youtube which led to a lot of political Youtubers rising when they were initial bigger gamers.

Anita still tries to maintain relevance by saying bullshite like Mario and Zelda are sexist against women and shows them as helpless, despite the fact in Breath of the Wild Zelda has been fighting Ganon nonstop for 100 years and is the only thing stopping him from destroying the world. Video game companies know what will happen if they succumb to MeToo.

It is.

And the game itself. To this day sales still are top 10 monthly. The staying power of the sales is unreal.
They have shipped over 85 million copies. God knows how many digital.

GTA 5 is now the all-time, best-selling video game in US both in revenues and units, based on combined digital and physical sales across PC, console and portable.

It is very commonly bought when somebody buys a console. Just look at that thread started yesterday about the guy buying a Xbox. Guess what was a game he got with it.

Basically what I am saying is they have no need to release a new one anytime soon.

If they're to go international, I'd really like to see Hong Kong/Macau.

#metoo will not hurt it. They, like south park, have passed that mark where every person knows it's hard as F on every one and most ignore it.

Take GTA: San Andreas and update the engine and graphics. Done.

That was the best game ever made.

Plus releasing RDR 2 this year, money will flow.

It will be a long time

I doubt the #metoo movement affects GTA. Groups have been trying to shut down Rockstar for a long time, and they’re still kicking.
