The 5.3l AFM is terrible. You can feel everytime it kicks between 4 and 8 cylinders. The change isn't as noticeable on highways at speed but around town its constantly changing. There's also delays from V4 mode back to V8 mode.
For instance: When you're at highway speed in V4 mode and you start climbing a hill it feels like you're on a Honda Recon 250 stuck in 4th gear going up an incline. If you're in the market for a new Silverado get the 6.2l

But yes, the 6.2 is sweet.

I'm on my second vehicle with the same 5.3 setup with no problem whatsoever. Sounds like your used 2010 silverado may be a lemon.

I wouldn't buy the 5.3 trash engine anyway! 6.2 on the other hand is a great engine.

Best truck engine on the market.

If you want the best half ton truck on the market buy a Tundra.

Worked fine for me for 8 years without any trouble.

It was actually a great vehicle for us.

Did you do a study or is this just your experience driving one Chevy Silverado 5.3l?

There’s already enough people here to disprove his argument.

Silverado, 7 years strong, here.
