Question about 811 service

Just called 811 so they could notify the utilities to come out and mark my yard so I can put in a basketball hoop.
I know and verified each service, but the lady said, even if I know they all have been, I still cant dig until Tuesday after 8pm.
Any reason for this? I live in a small rural area where I know that the yard will probably be done by Friday. They were super speedy last time.
When googling this though, it just says that if you do cause damage then you would need to seek representation (for damaged service/utility).
So why can they tell me I cant dig, even if I know all services have been flagged, and they are a free advisory service?

1. They only mark to their meters, so whatever is between the meter and the house is up to you to locate, so be aware of that.
2. I believe if you get responses from all services, you can dig before the official "start date"

Have to give them time to come mark it. They send out the one call and give the companies time to respond.

Yeah I understand, but there is only 4 companies that need to come. They are out here all the time.
I will wait regardless if they come early or not, but my question was regarding why do I have to wait if they all have come?

72 business hours....you frick something up by going early, expect a huge bill

How big of a basketball goal are you putting in?
We're talking 2-3 ft deep hole at most....not a trench or anything drastic....once it's marked dig away. Just use a hand post hole digger and you won't be able to cut any pipes or anything serious. Are the electrical lines, cable/phone overhead?

This is what cracks me up about the service. I was digging ONE HOLE last time and put stakes around a 3'X3' area with marking tape. I met the guys out there and said "just tell me if there is anything right there." They marked up the whole damn yard.

It probably doesn't apply to you, but just because you don't have the service doesn't mean there isn't another utility line that runs through your yard.
You are correct and very likely right and able to work. But their notice is just for your protection.

Just listen to them because if you dig before then and happen to hit something, you're liable.

I think they have to unless you mark the area in white paint.

The utilities have 2 days to mark their reapective lines. If you called it in today, they have until Monday to locate.

Yeah I understand the protection.
My services are
City - Water & Gas
Electric Co op - Electric
Mediacom - Internet & Phone
**Frontier - Internet & Phone (Only service that runs that I don't have)
I'm in a rural subdivision 1 mile south of town to be more specific. So its not like in the middle of town with everything.

That's why you pay for homeowner's insurance

No, but I already know what is in my yard.
Put in a fence last summer. Had Mediacom installed as first owner. 1990 house. Edge of town front of small country club subdivision.
