At any point? Ever?

I’ve been watching for 3 days and I just cannot fathom him.

Half the people they bring on can barely speak english. Seems like that should have been requirement #1.

This is what I posted in the Brazil thread yesterday

quote:

Like their plan was to just grab random ex players and coaches who happen to be in Russia and ask them to drop into the studio bc they are to cheap to fly out their own people.

and Ian Wright just showed up today, like ITV is giving him a break for a few hours.

It truly has been horrendous coverage - from pretty much every aspect.

The "analysis" is bad too - and is never really linked up with any video. You have random half-time or full time highlight being shown while former player from another country who barely speaks English rambles on about something else that's not even being shown.

ESPN originated this with their coverage in 2008 and 2010.

I just tune in for the games on my computer while I'm working or have them on at home over the weekend. During the game only. I've enjoyed every second that I've watched.

The thing about Ballack is that he kept being brought back - so eventually you kind of just thought of it as his shtick. I would love when they would ask him something and you could see in his head that he was translating the question, thinking of the answer, and then trying to translate that answer back into English in his head.

You obviously didn’t watch the Denmark-Peru game. The commentary made me want to take take an icepick to my ears.

If I didn't know any better, I'd have thought the commentary from that game was a YouTube parody. Two commentators who barely speak intelligible English using way-over-the-top terminology like they're commentating a WWE fight.

"READY. SET. FIRE!!!!"

It's almost morbidly enjoyable in a "so bad it's good" kind of way. Almost.

Hope FOX either improves significantly or they just sell the rights to a competent company.
