Some of you know, but we do the DIY bonefish thing a couple times a year. These photos are from a trip to the Bahamas back in May. I never posted them. The fishing this past trip was subpar but we still caught a good bit. Caught jacks, bones, cudas, and sharks. Also had a friend who had never been bonefishing period - and just started saltwater fly fishing recently - get his first bonefish on fly. Anyway, here are some of my favorites from the trip.
Enjoy
Enjoy

Thanks everyone
.
I try to avoid posting stuff like that on the internet generally for reasons I'm sure everyone can understand, but this was one of the central out islands of the Bahamas. If you're really interested, you can post your email and I'll send you some info.

We check them and bring them with us. The amount of area you can fish is multiplied exponentially if you have access to a kayak or SUP. They're hard to find, but it's even more difficult to find a vehicle capable of transporting a kayak. It costs like $35-$50 (depending on airline) to check the SUP, and they're much easier to transport in rentals than kayaks.

You like the inflatable ones? I have the 12' flood solid board, but thinking about an inflatable one when I buy a second board.

Overall I've been really impressed with it. I also have a foam/epoxy board.
They absolutely do not paddle as well as the epoxy boards, but that should be expected. On flat water it's not as noticeable, but in chop they can be pretty sluggish. The board flexes lengthwise in chop because of the suction created with the surface of the water, so instead of cutting through chop easily, the board kinda sticks to waves (if that makes sense). This makes it more difficult, but everything is a tradeoff, much like boats.
That's the only real drawback. They're very stable and easy to fish off of if you want to do that. The convenience of being able to transport them is invaluable though.

I’m headed out tomorrow to Eleuthera and then Andros for 2 weeks. These pics are stunning and as fantastic as they are, they can’t tell the “whole” story of how incredible the Bahamas out islands are for enjoying peaceful outdoors.
