Eagles remember Saints running up the score, excited for playoff rematch
quote:

The first meeting between the teams was a low point for the Eagles’ season, which has been revived and then some with Nick Foles. The Eagles were embarrassed by 41 points, the worst loss for a defending Super Bowl champion in NFL history.

The best way to not have someone score a fourth-down touchdown on you when they’re up 31 points is to not fall behind by 31 points. But the Eagles don’t seem pleased with what happened in New Orleans earlier this season.

“They ran up the score,” Eagles offensive tackle Jason Peters told Zack Rosenblatt of NJ.com. “We wanted them again, we got them again. This time, we coming. It’s not going to be the same outcome.”

No shite, Jason Peters? We were literally the only team you could play, so the Eagles had better wanted to play the Saints again or else that would mean you wanted to lose to the Bears.

And I don't understand his "this time, we coming" statement. Does that mean they weren't even trying the first game?

Don't worry, Jason, we comin' too.

it's not running up the score if you can't stop the other team's backup players

Always laugh when people say run up the score. It's a game. If you can't stop them, that's on you.

Running up the score in the NFL should never be frowned upon like in college , high school, etc. These are paid professionals so there is nothing unsportsmanlike about it.

Exactly. The offense is literally doing what they getting paid to do. It's just too bad that on that particular day our players were doing better at their job that the Eagles' players

The Eagles will bring out a-hole Sean this weekend. What a dumb thing to say.

Peters sounds like a bitch here

I mean... it was 4th & 6 from PHI's 37 yd line... and we did go with the home run ball on that play

not our fault Jenkins couldn't keep up with Kamara

granted... we could've tried a 54-55 yd FG attempt or pooch punt and try to down them inside the 10... but whatever

That game could have ended much faster if the Eagles wouldn't have tried to score when the game was over as well. I didn't get why they kept letting Wentz throw it when it was clearly over. To stat pad?

If say the Eagles did what the Pats did in 2009 and just yielded, I could maybe see the gripe.

I said it then but the 4th and 7th touchdown was more the defens the eagles ran then Sean calling a shot play. When games are out of hand you don't typically kick 55 yard field goals. You just go for it to run more clock. The play was to Thomas right at the sticks. Eagles doubled Thomas which left Kamara open. Brees made the correct read.

Sit back in deep zone if you want the game to end and stop throwing the ball to come back.

What a fricking snowflake. You don't like being scored on? Tell your defense to play better. Or maybe try to sustain drives and put points on the board.

Dumbass.

Kamara was not the first read on that play. Brees even said so. They sold out to stop Thomas. Is Brees supposed to just throw it in the ground when he knows who is open from their defense?

Did Bradham play that first game? I don’t remember them being able to cover Kamara well. I do remember them doubling Thomas. Will they do that again with Ginn out there?

We didn't run up the score, they were just terrible. But glad they're finding ways to pull the disrespect card again.

meh media needs storylines for this game and us "running up the score"/ revenge factor is the best angle they've got.

I mean look at this. 3 guys on Thomas with 2 pressing right on him. It was not what it looked like.
