The Betsy Ross flag is the American Flag. If we are to follow this logic, then the current rendition should also be offensive.
If everything about the founding of our nation is invalid due to the sins of our Founding Fathers, then we might as well rip up the Declaration of Independence and Constitution.

I would strongly suggest that they end up with a different shoe on the market, sans flag, that Nike tells everyone they forced past colon.
