Mrs. Sadie was a nice lady who just wanted the best for the future of her culture, and to preserve a history that taught people how to live day to day successfully.
She definitely did not deserve to leave this world this way.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - An icon of the Baton Rouge community was found dead in the trunk of a car Friday afternoon. The cause of her death is unknown as this time.
An autopsy to determine the cause of death for Sadie Roberts-Joseph, 75, is scheduled to be performed Monday, July 15.
According to officials with the Baton Rouge Police Department, Roberts-Joseph found at roughly 3:45 p.m. on Friday, July 12. Joseph is the founder of non-profit Odell S. Williams Now & Then Museum of African American History.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Autopsy results have determined that Sadie Roberts-Joseph, 75, died from traumatic asphyxia, including suffocation, the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner confirmed Monday.
Her death has been ruled a homicide.
“It is with great sadness and respect we investigate any unexpected or traumatic death. When our investigation involves an innocent victim, such as Ms. Sadie Joseph, it is particularly tragic. Our condolences are extended to Ms. Joseph’s family and friends,” Beau Clark, EBR Coroner, said.
Information gathered by medical examiners during the autopsy may be able to help investigators with the Baton Rouge Police Department learn the circumstances that led to Roberts-Joseph being discovered in the trunk of a car located roughly 3.5 miles away from her home.
Detectives have not released much information about what they’ve learned since the initial discovery, citing the need to protect the integrity of the investigation. However, investigators say many members of the public have come forward willing to cooperate in the case.
Anyone with information that can help police is urged to contact the Violent Crimes Unit at 389-4869 or Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.

This sounds like some mob shite. Finding a body in a car trunk, but who would want a 75 year old woman dead?

That’s personal. Usually a friend or someone that knows the victim.

I mean that she was passionate about preserving African American history, but she wasn't ever bitter about it, she just wanted kids to learn their past and use those lessons to be strong, successful adults.

Welfare generation after welfare generation and we now have a large share of the youth from this generation with absolutely no regard for human life.

Sad day for BR. From all I’ve seen she was part of the solution and not part of the problem.
Her murder has received less coverage than I would have guessed, but maybe it’s because of Barry.

It doesn't say if anything was taken from her. That will obviously tell a lot more. If she was robbed, killed and then thrown in the back of her trunk it could have been some addicts trying to get their next hit..
If she was killed and nothing was taken, then that is a whole different story,

Senseless. Children and the elderly should be off limits.

It's right next to the overpass. its a little building, but all the pillars of the overpass are painted with AA leaders from history if you ever see them downtown.

I’m surprised that this is the first time today this is being posted on this site. I read this story on the CNN webpage on Friday. What’s going on with Baton Rouge?
