BR sports guys go after Aranda

104.5 It wasn’t the pace of the LSU offense that wore LSU’s defense down, it was Texas 60% on 3rd down, it was Aranda’s schemes.
How do you go 60% on 3rd down and have no turnovers yet lose the game as Texas did? When you’re facing a Heisman QB!

was listening on the radio, and they abso-fricking-lutely did not "go after" Aranda. They were simply discussing FACTS and actual STATS -- thats not attacking a coordinator.
PS: they weren't wrong either, stop being dramatic.

Why are you excited that the media is attacking LSU's defensive coordinator? Seems odd.

As all should. Look at the last 3 games; ATM, UCF and Texas. What defense?

A small contingent of the fan base has an inexplicable vendetta against Aranda. It’s odd.

Anyone else notice LSU defenders narrowly missing about 5 of those third down conversions. I remember Harris, Phillips and Stevens on multiple plays leaping and missing by an inch. Defense was that close to getting off the field several times. Credit to Texas QB to fit it into tight windows.

Maybe, and some have a vendetta against the HC
People are small minded and petty.

I really like aranda but the last 3 games vs good offenses have been awful
No other way to look at it
No other way to look at it

Maybe sam was just awesome that night and put aranda on his heels?

It is rather odd that there is a certain group on this board who just loves to down Aranda or loves when the defense doesn’t play up to their capabilities.

I always love the recaps on here of what was said on the radio. It's always accurate and exact.

Yup. Except you all seem to selectively forget that LSU played a scholarship wide receiver as a corner vs UCF, and played the reserves against A&M.
Not to mention that those reserves held A&M to 30 pts in regulation and should have won the game on a defensive play at the end of regulation.
This thread is bad, and you all should feel bad.

So he’s on par with many other highly thought of DCs like Brent Venables

They didn’t have enough respect for Ellinger’s ability to beat them in the pocket so they were only rushing 4 and playing contain. He is a really good QB and made plays and proved him wrong.
With that said, that same strategy will probably destroy Florida. Make Felipe Franks beat you from the pocket and he won’t do nearly what Ellinger did.

60% 3rd down conversion, he should get skewered

I think that had a lot to do with it. QB played up in a big game, it happens. Bodes well for his and Texas' future this season.

I'm really not sure how much he could have changed what happened at UT. Bad tackling plus a QB who was throwing perfect darts led to a couple of TD's that otherwise wouldn't have happened.
They were more physical, running through our tackling attempts. Not sure that's on the DC.

Same reason some gleefully attack Coach O. Agendas.

Yep. No real reason to overthink this one. He's damn good.
