Your body can only take in so much of each vitamin. Any extra just goes out one of your holes or turns into fat

Oh, yeah, it works, but when you piss out all that Vitamin C you have to do it in a cup and drink it again to give yourself a second chance at absorbing it. Give it a try.

Yes but you have to butt chug it, or at least soak a tampon in it and slide it up there real good like.

Your stomach acids break down the chemical bonds, making it not nearly as potent. Sneak it in through the back door and WHAM, you should be better soon.

I once had a cold and drank about a gal and half of orange juice (good source of Vit C) in about 30 minutes and and felt great shortly after that. I've tried it with VC supplements with mixed results. After a certain amount(about 8 grams for me) your body will expel it through diarrhea and urine. That doesn't mean it doesn't help in the meantime. I've encourage others to drink a lot of orange juice and some of them have said it seemed to make them feel better. Doesn't hurt to try.

No

You piss out the extra

The extra doesn’t convert to fat unless there are calories associated with it

C and B are water soluble vitamins

A D E K are fat soluble

The cold is going to run its course not matter what you do. The best you can hope for is controlling the symptoms.

During the day, take Advil Cold and Sinus. Before bed take Nyquil.

Cough drops can help.

The weather has been too warm for this, but contrast showers really help with cold symptoms. Take your normal shower, but at the end, dump the water to as cold as it will go. I mean cold. Like you gasp when the water hits you. Do that for 30 seconds. Then put it as hot as you can handle for 30 seconds. Do that a few times, and you'll feel better.

No. Vitamin C’s Immediate positive effect on the immune system is no where close to how it’s depicted on tv or as “common knowledge” may tell people.

If anything it’s more of a placebo. In respect to Emegen-C and similar powder things, it’s the acetaminophen, antihistamines, and decongestants that are making you feel better.

This. If you have a cold, consistent amounts of C and Zinc are the best way to go.

Megadosing C, your body can only absorbe so much at one time.

If I'm feeling a cold coming on I take a loading dose of 1000mg, then I take 500mg every couple or 3 hours after. It usually will stop my getting a cold. But I have done lots of research on Vitamin C. You might begin with Linus Pauling. Several others (doctors/scientists) have written papers on Vitamin C.
