These are the top 3 ranked defenses in the nation. And Georgia is 5th. We will have to likely beat 3 of these teams. A&M is currently around 20th as well.

It would be nice for our defense to step up. Since the Auburn game we have gone from 21st overall defense to 43rd....41st in yards per play.

Our offense has to keep doing work.

Our pass defense is a pitiful 10th in the sec! Look out Sat night. Got to contain and pressure Mond to help out dbu.

I think part of the reason those defenses are highly ranked is due to a talent disparity between those other conferences and the SEC, with UGA being the exception.

The other 3 have pretty much physically dominated their opponents. They haven't played teams with similar athletic talent week in and week out. There is less parity in the other big conferences.

One thing about the SEC is that there is talent all over the league and guys from just about every team will make the NFL. Even Arkansas and Ole Miss put guys in the NFL.

The SEC has the most players in the NFL by a fairly large margin.

One thing is for sure: we will all get to see how good those top ranked defenses can be when they go against the LSU Tigers.

I think those rankings will be exposed. If I'm wrong then so be it.

But I'm not.

ohio state plays 3 yards and a cloud of dust offenses all year long. of course you're defense is going to put up better stats.

the ACC is just inept, as is the pac 12. I will give Utah props for their ranking because even though the pac 12 isn't very good, those offenses are trying to score through the air and some of them can put up points.

stats don't tell the whole story.

Auburn has perhaps the best front four in the country. Nothing I've seen from Gerogia really scares me.

Statistics like these are almost DUMB. Rank of the defense.
they are based in who the team has played.

Look at LSU's offense.
Monster Stats against SEC West Schedule with Texas and Florida to boot.
Now that has some WEIGHT...

Analytics are relative...there in impeaching a lot of them

Chill out. Enjoy the RIDE. It has been a great season.

Mond and Fromm suck, I think we’ll cruise to 13-0. But it will be very difficult after that.

We are 11-0

We shut down Bama when it mattered.

We shut down everyone when it mattered.

2nd half points to Ole Puss are irrelevant.

We will be just fine.

Negas gonna nega.

I disagree. If you read the comments from the committee last night, they explicitly said that OSU has a more balanced team with offense and defense. Those garbage points we gave up to Bama, Ole Miss, and Arky hurt our perception and make us look like a glorified Big 12 team. If we close those games out on defense, we are still number 1 - that is a fact.

I don't care what the rankings are - if we are in the mix we should win -

Only caveat is that we should not be forced to play a team we have already beaten in the first round - when they have had an extra week to prepare with no opponent of any kind - let alone another team in the top 5.

I wouldn't even want to play Ol Miss in the first round if they get to sit around resting up and scheming how to avoid the mistakes in their loss and watching us having to play hard to beat another top 5 team.
