Post Spring depth chart 2020

Tried to piece together everything the coaches have said recently on where the depth chart stands. There are a few tweaks that I made personally.
On defense, Ive taken a shot at both the base 4-3 and the nickel that is played more frequently. With the nickel there will be a ton of interchangeable pieces between LB & DB.

Players you wont find on chart that are still on roster: Peter Parish, Avery Atkins, Travez Moore, Koy Moore, Cole Taylor, Desmond Little, Ray Parker.

You should show the offense depth chart in 11 personnel. We don’t have a FB position anymore and you’re missing the Z WR position.

A few thoughts/concerns-all for the offense-
Guard and Center-We have nine guys there to find the right three.
We better stay healthy at OT.
A mature QB backup is a glaring deficiency for 2020.

The templet didnt have that option.
I think the most common alignment will be
X Terrace Marshall
slot Ja'Marr Chase
Z Racey McMath
I just put Carter at FB so it wouldnt be blank. He's still a FB on the roster, but I have him as the TE3 too.

Middle linebacker doesnt come off the field in a 4-2-5, it's 1 of the 2 outside guys. Think the SAM backer comes off generally in a 4-2-5

Nice work! I agree with most everything but I think unless Marcel Brooks took a tremendous step forward in coverage it's tough to see him on the field over Damone Clark in the 4-2-5. If they want Brooks out there in 4-2-5 I think its with a hand down and maybe Thomas slides inside to rush the passer. Hopefully Brooks has improved enough that he isn't a liability in coverage though!

Eric Monroe - 8th yr senior lol. God damn he's been on the team since the 90s huh. I know you have to pick an order in your formatting and can't list 1a/b/c, but Curry is going to get the first carry of the season if I had to put money on it. Too much chatter in interviews of O and assistants to think otherwise. I would hope on skill alone Boutte is WR5 at worst. Lastly, if there was an injury on the outside, Jay Ward is coming in base 4-3 before Vincent is.

Again its not my template so I didnt create the positions.
and like i said, there are a lot of interchangeable pieces in that alignment. I do not think Clark is automatically in there, especially on passing downs.
You have to consider Stevens' role with the defense and where he fits in, as well.

Why did you leave Cole Taylor off? Do you really think Moffitt or Carter will get reps over him?

think about what they can do with Jacoby Stevens though. He can and will usually be in the box most plays in this formation, essentially giving you another LB.
Brooks is a wildcard but i think you want his chase ability in space and blitz capabilities on pass downs.
I do like Damone Clark but to the naked eye that's not his best fit. He's a little late getting to the outside and didnt take the best angles in 2019. Of course I expect him to improve, but he just seems like a bulkier, typical MLB.

Looks good but I think day 1 Curry and Pettigrew will start. I do think by seasons end that you’re right though

Like you said, I think both guys get passed pretty quickly.
I think TDP leads that group in carries.
Emery probably leads in total touches.
Curry should get passed by those two like he was most of last year.
Pettigrew has never done anything. I haven't heard them hype a freshman on offense like Gilbert has been in a long while.

I was thinking that Marshall might see more slot this year but WTH these guys line up all over the field anyway.

I think we will see Chase and Marshall switching between X and slot depending on who/where SE wants to attack.
Personally I think Marshall is a better fit in the slot, but Chase is an incredible WR and can easily play inside or out. IIRC Chase also mentioned last year that he wanted to play in the slot some.

Couldn’t fit Koy. I think he’s the last of the scholarship WRs right now. Needs to add weight. Redshirt in perfect world

Shanahans is somewhere in the two deep.
Ain't didnt O say TK McKlendon is with the ones as on now?
Eta, I also thing Cox is a will in the 4-3 with Baskerville as the Sam coming off in nickle, assuming that's how they rotate it.

Fair points but I would def think he’d be ahead of Alex Adams.
