Peak unemployment will have been around 20%. So not as bad as experts thought it would be in the end.

When the doctor walks in and tells you he only has to remove the tip of your dick instead of the whole thing is that good or bad?

The 41 million is just the total since the start of the COVID shite, not the actual claims submissions.

Unemployment rate = Unemployed / Labor Force

41/157 = 26.6%.

Let's all celebrate. Cheers to the 70% of those unemployed enjoying their taxpayer backed raises

How can anyone be surprised by this unemployment number? The gov't decided to pay people more money to NOT work than they were making WORKING. It's insanity.

And it’s not like the unemployment just happened by way of a bad economy. It is forced unemployment with businesses being forced to shutdown.

. . . and the Dow is sitting north of 25.5K. S&P >3K.
Those numbers are great but befuddling. They mirror market numbers from last June when unemployment was 3.7%, and just 6 million were considered underemployed.

Wanna know how I can tell you don’t have kids? $3,000,000,000,000. Anybody who is going to pay taxes from here on out is hurt.

I really don't get the shitting on unemployed fellow Americans... 40% of the jobs lost aren't coming back, they'll need that extra cash to get by after July since you idiot conservatives only advocate "Doh pull yourself up by the bootstrap".....

41 million are not currently unemployed.
It’s closer to half that as continuing claims have shrunken and there were fewer unemployment claims this week than last week overall.

Another 2.1 million file jobless claims, but total unemployed shrinks
quote:

Continuing claims, or those who have been collecting for at least two weeks, numbered 21.05 million, a clearer picture of how many workers are still sidelined. That number dropped sharply, falling 3.86 million from the previous week.

Probably the estimated millions of people who don’t fit into that 41 million because they haven’t gotten their claims processed, and thus haven’t received a dime.
