Anyone have any tips on playing with a blister? I went to get a new driver this week and they didn’t have any gloves due to Covid. I said screw it and didn’t buy one (i should have) and formed a blister on my left thumb. Went to the range today thinking a glove would help and I was wrong.

What are some tips on how to control it? I’m playing Friday and Saturday in a club tourney.

Or a band aid. Whichever you think will affect you less.

I used the white sports tape and it helped. I considered buying the finger sleeves but never thought about it until it was too late. Eventually I figured out that if I keep my hands as dry as possible, I don't get blisters.

Stop gripping it so tight to make a blister

Leukotape is the best thing I’ve found. When I hike the Appalachian trail I carry this with me. It isn’t going to come off and provides great friction protection. You have a baselayer of a thin white gauze like layer and then the cloth layer goes over it, so you get two rolls in a box that are used together. You won’t find a better blister cover. I’ve used it on the golf course as well (it’s actually in my golf bag right now) but if it works for dirty sweaty thru hikers it will work for anything.

Step 1, a day or two before you play:

Then bandaid and tape if it's really bad, but new skin usually takes care of it for me

I keep a roll of that Mueller sports tape in my bag and tape the ring and index finger where they interlock before every round because I always get blisters. Just tape it up and you’ll be fine.

Because i'm sure everyone was on pins and needles wondering what I did for my blister and my golf this weekend, I sprayed Nu-Skin on the blister, then put a band-aid on it and then wrapped it in sports tape. Had no problems whatsoever so that's what I would recommend for anyone that needs a blister coverup.
