I'm replacing the graphite shaft of my Nike Vapor Flex 5w. Any advice on what I should go with or look for?

Impossible to answer on a message board. Go get fitted.

Do you know your swing speed or anything like that? What shaft is currently on your 5w, flex and weight? Are you comfortable with the flex and the weight? If you're willing to spend an extra $100 or so, you can go get fitted for it somewhere and they'll pretty much tell you exactly what you need.

Not being a smart arse, but that head is probably worth 15 bucks if that, so I wouldn't invest much money into it, totally understand that you might be very comfortable with the head.

A Grafalloy Prolaunch blue shaft would probably do the trick.

The club is going for about $130 on ebay. I plan on keeping it, I like it.

I'll have to go get fitted then.

Like I said, no offense and you are probably like and are comfortable with the head.

You didn't mention if the original shaft is intact or it broke.

I can tell you from experience, if the original shaft broke, it can be a daunting task to duplicate the same feel and performance.

If you are just wanting to experiment that's a different story.

The shaft is intact, it's just the wrong flex. If I swing regular flex graphite, I slice. When I switched to stiff, I straightened out.

A really good fairway shaft is the Project X Riptide.

Another is the Aldila Tour Blue.

Both are under a hundred bucks.
