Should I start learning left handed or switch to right handed? And why.

I have a friend in your same position. He was a very good baseball player, natural lefty but was a switch hitter. He started playing this year. He tried right handed bc of the availability of clubs. But he went back to left handed bc his swing speed was much higher left handed.
You need to see which side generates the most clubhead speed for you, and it's probably gonna be left handed. But maybe not.

Why? I know people did it in previous generations because clubs were not as readily available, but you can easily get almost any set of clubs made for left handers today.

Cheaper inventory if you’re a lefty and don’t mind used.
Limited inventory if you’re a lefty looking for new.

I have a friend that writes left, but bats right handed, and plays golf right handed.

Have you played baseball, hockey, or tennis competitively?
Your going to need to figure out which is most comfortable to you. There are plenty of examples of people who play golf switch hitting.

It's 2021 with internet markets. Club availability is not a concern. Pick based on natural comfort and forget about it after that.

I’m left handed and play right handed.
Ben Hogan was too. Between us we won numerous majors.

Just play left handed. It’s not a hard decision.

I’m left handed but play golf and bat right handed. I am terrible.
But I’m even worse golfing and batting left handed.

I’m a lefty. Play lefty if that’s what is comfortable for you. It makes people extra salty when you beat that arse swinging from the ‘’wrong’’ side of the ball

quote:youre right. Of course Phil is a leftie. I wrote it backwards. My point is he’s right handed, but swings left. My apologies for the confusion
