As of Thursday, 882 people were tied to the Provincetown outbreak. Among those living in Massachusetts, 74% of them were fully immunized, yet officials said the vast majority were also reporting symptoms. Seven people were reported hospitalized.

The initial findings of the investigation led by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, in conjunction with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, seemed to have huge implications.

You were warned CDC, but did NOT listen in March 2021:

Take Ivermectin if you get covid.

Ivermectin is a promising Covid treatment and prophylaxis, but the agency is denigrating it.

We can no longer trust the CDC, WHO, Fauci, and anyone else who ignores the true science, even many good Drs who "believe" in Fauci and the CDC. Anyone who ignores Ivermectin as a solution should be ignored until they see the light.

That is a lower incidence of hospitalizations than non-vaccinated, everything else being equal.

Hospitalizations occur in around 4.4% of good ol’ regular Covid.

This is an incidence lower than 1% of reported cases (which is lower than actual cases).

That’s an absolute risk reduction of 3% and a relative risk reduction of 400%.

Everything I know says the virus doesn’t spread this fast unless you’re in an orgy

When a vaccinated person gets infected with delta -- called a "breakthrough infection" -- "the level of virus in their nasopharynx is about 1,000 times higher than with the alpha variant," Fauci said in an interview Wednesday with MSNBC.

Just so we’re clear on this point, Tony. You make it sound like someone has taken samples from a person’s nasopharynx who is infected with the Delta variant. And then compared it to samples from the nasopharynx of a person with Classic Covid.

I do not believe that has been done. Has it been done?

An ARR of 3% yields a NNT of 34.

You prevent one hospitalization for every 34 people you vaccinate.

That is very good given the safety profile.

You’re arguing with a subset of data. What’s incorrect about the Provincetown data?

No.

If you vaccinate 34 people, one person will not be hospitalized that otherwise would have been.

Google what “number needed to treat” means.

and that assumes the hospitalized were all vaccinated. I've not seen confirmation of that.

Correct. The story is a bit sloppy. It makes it seem the 7 are a subset of the vaccinated but doesn’t make it explicit.

They know all there is to know about these variants. I'm sure there's more variants they want to roll out. They also know what stomps this virus out. Look at the therapeutics they try to discredit that has been miraculous to recovery, ivermectin. I bet they start denying availability of it.

I’m surprised they already haven’t.
