John Brooks during the goal given up last night

Was he trying to get the offside call instead of playing the ball?
And if so, in this no VAR world, that’s not the play.

Looks like he got caught in no man's land and froze

Not every stadium in CONCACAF can support it.

You think people only try to draw others offside when VAR is involved?
Also Brooks is a "starter", means we should've won, right?

He always plays under VAR so it is an adjustment to not and the re-introduction of human error. You could do a great job with offside trap and human AR call it wrong.

What the frick are you talking about?
The backline have been trying to draw attackers offside since the beginning of time, I guarantee you VAR or no VAR has no effect on that line of thinking.
Brooks got caught in no-man's land on Davies run, it had had nothing to do with him being used to playing with VAR.

I would have been OK with Walker Zimmerman over Brooks last night, in front of his home fans.

You know, there’s something to be said about being able to step into the midfield to cut out counter attacking, which Brooks does a nice job of, but you’re also going to be chasing your own goal at times and he’s just too slow.

He's not the fastest, but he's not slow either.
10 minutes after giving up that goal he had a sequence where he chased down Davies or someone else (can't remember) all the way to the right sideline, made a nice slide tackle to force a throw-in and end a Canada counter.
Brooks' problem has always been that he will have random mental lapses which is what happened on the goal, because he was running with Larin and was in good positioning, but then just... stopped.

That’s fair. Top speed isn’t necessarily slow, but I wouldn’t say he accelerates well.

Heard them say this last night but what does that even mean? They don't have cameras and computers in others countries? This makes no sense whatsoever.
This sounds like one of those skits where a conservative goats dumb white liberals into saying things like black people don't know how to get an ID or go to the doctor.

I mean most of them don’t have suitable soccer pitches either. Most high schools have better fields in the USA than these third world countries but that’s concacaf
