Best months to do a tropical vacation

The Mrs. and I will be doing our first tropical vacation in 2022, probably to the Bahamas but that has yet to be fully determined.
I'm looking at my work schedule trying to plan this properly. December, January, and February are pretty much out. What other months do you recommend?

One of the biggest mistakes I made early in life and starting to travel I was not researching rainy seasons for various countries and regions within those countries.
I would start there.

Seems like March would be a good time given your work schedule.

Not late August, September, or early October.

Mexico in March is amazing.
And what HGG said about researching rainy season.

BC of hurricane or rainy season?

Hurricanes if traveling to the Caribbean.

There's also a difference between the northern part of the Caribbean and the southern part. There are places in the northern part that sometimes get cool in the winter and might not be as warm as one would like.
But I also wouldn't go some places in June-September because they are just too hot.

The high season is typically November to March for a reason...

Yep and it's easier to get a good trip in April/May with confidence than June - November. Rainy season in Central America starts in June and it rains a lot. The Caribbean is a little more forgiving unless one of those big storms is brewing.

Instead of Christmas presents, we now "gift" ourselves a trip some place warm and sandy a week or two before Christmas. Airports are in a lull at that time between holiday. Hotel rooms seem to be plentiful. Beaches are much less crowded. Flights are more open.
We don't have little kids anymore, so we don't have to worry about Christmas Day stuff ...

March / April trips always seem to be good motivation for me to keep in shape over the winter.

Winter months will be more crowded and most expensive due to influx of Northerners and Canadians.
I'd go late spring to early summer. We went to the Bahamas a few years back in April and it was great. Also have been to BVI in May. Did Turks & Caicos twice around New Years and it was noticeably more crowded due to high season and popularity.
