I really would have voted, as usual, for the LP. Johnson was just too bizarre in nature, as well as being a sad spokesman for libertarians. He is libertarian light, at best. If Peterson had won, I would have helped the 3rd party cause. I had to roll with Trump, this time.

It will be as long as we keep telling ourselves that.

The primaries are where you can vote your conscious. The general you need to vote on political realities. As of now you have two choices, and you threw your vote in the garbage. Congrats

Breaking the two-party Behemoth that gave us these awful choices can only begin by creating a viable third party. That can only occur when a third party has an equal playing field in terms of matching funds from the FEC. This only occurs when they get 5% in the general election.

Your analysis of the situation is not only extremely short-sighted. It's factually incorrect.

then be like me and don't view it as voting for Gary Johnson, who I agree, deviated too much this election, but a vote for the Libertarian party for the future

You want Peterson to have more of a voice in the future? You should be voting for the party now.

i totally respect that from a leftist. i just have to do the most effective possible thing within the law, to keep Hillary out. And I think GJ is a schnozzle.

Some insanely selfish people in this thread. Congrats on voting for who you wanted to vote for.

You right to help HRC waltz in to office

Really depends the state he's from.

If you're voting in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee. Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and other hard core (to the bone) red states then it's all about the rest of the ballot (the Senate perhaps)... because if Trumps looses in these states it's a historic landslide of epic proportion.

when someone aside from Trump or Hillary wins this election, you can tell me my analysis is "factually incorrect".

As far as being short sighted, one of two people will be President elect at the end of the day and that person will be appointing several supreme court justices...those justices will have a HUGE impact on the future of our country for many years to come. It would be short sighted to "vote on principle" when you know full well that the candidate you are voting for will not win while there are decades of influence of the direction of the highest court in the land at stake.
