You have a really hard time with basic concepts like legal vs. illegal don't you?

You do realize a path to citizenship is making the illegals legal, right?

Its not best of the best... its a lottery system and therefore the best isnt always chosen. I had a graduate from MIT engineering work for me for a year before he had to go back to Nigeria.

Cry me a river, we hire over 500 a year, if you want to be hired, you better have more than "I was born in America" attitude.

From the mouth of a legal immigrant who is now a citizen! This is the kind of person we want to immigrate here.

He's more of a patriot than the OP.

Should states that don't have a border with Mexico really have a say here? Does some Manhattanite really understand what's happening at our southern border?

What part of landing on boats and shooting natives do you find legal?

Oh frick off. The entire course of human history has been decided by warfare and conquest. Those natives your vagina is weeping over were on that land because they conquered the previous inhabitants.

I believe this. A wall is not an answer. Stepping up immigration enforcement tools we currently have, including destroying those who employ illegals, is the answer.

Now this I do not believe

Each year, I hire about 12 extremely qualified individuals from outside the US. Of those, we get 25% through H1b, and of those who get through only another 50% can stay long enough to get the citizenship.

Of course you do. You are hiring from a much higher skill set. Laws and restrictions are almost always enforced more strictly on people like this. Numerous subsea engineers that I work with are here on work visas and have been here on work visas for over 15 years.

One of the reasons it takes so long is because there aren't enough people to process them. Either you increase the number of people needed to process the applicants OR you decrease the number of people trying. You can do this by letting people come here to work and allow them to go back home... The misunderstanding is that most of the illegals that come here want citizenship. Some do, but many just want to work and send money home.

By the way, I lived and worked overseas and it is very difficult to get citizenship in other countries also. The ones that are easy you probably don't want citizenship there anyway. Some are much much harder than the U.S.

Yep...because immigration never worked for us before.

Did everyone honestly believe we could and would deport 11 million people and build an impenetrable wall?

Immigration worked when we weren't making crappy trade deals like NAFTA and TPP. Now, all immigration does is reduce our economic growth as we sink deeper into financial ruin.

We cannot continue to take in more people. Every public sector institution is overburdened. Schools, Law Enforcement, Medicaid/Medicare, et al.

As it stands, with economic growth being what it has been, we will not see solvency with regard to programs like social security and medicare. Adding more burden to the rolls will not improve the situation. We're at a negative growth rate despite the huge influx of "cheap labor."

And yes, I do believe we could build a wall. Remember, it isn't necessary to build a wall that stretches from the pacific to the gulf of mexico. There are many areas that are completely impractical to even try to cross. The areas that see the most action should be reinforced and patrolled. Drone technology being what it is, we can have rapid deployment along the border and deal with any crossers with extreme prejudice.

Finally, this isn't "immigration." It's an invasion. We either fight now or capitulate, but I don't want to throw in the towel. I want to be able to pass on a better nation to my children and grandchildren.

This!

Plus, deny them from sending their kids to school for free, and if they go to a hospital for medical care, deport them after they are released.

End of problem.

I bet most of those opposed to a wall don't live in states where they're directly affected by illegal immigrants.
To them, it's a bleeding heart issue that they opine about in their coffee shops--like climate change and saving endangered lizards.
To those who live in border states, it's our schools, hospitals, legal systems, etc.

That is why you dont get it

Guess what. No other country is letting that shite fly on their end.

Its far more close to impossible to get a work permit in the European Union or Asia which are the only other job markets.

So anyone can just come here and get a job but no one here can get a job anywhere else.

You are basically saying frick this country.

So frick you

Higher immigration worked when our economy was booming. The growth in our economy has a very gentle rise in it. We have a lot of folks not working now, not bothering to look for work. With increased automation and the decline of manufacturing jobs... things have changed.

We just don't have the job growth to support open borders. Anyone that says we do is wrong. We can handle some but not 2 million per year. We don't have that kind of job growth at all... not even in the same neighborhood.

These are the same countries you were comparing healthcare against. I hire the best that apply, usually they are from other countries and understand the hardship. I dont hire entitled individuals like yourself whom think you being born here gives you an advantage.

If you have the skills, you have the job.

Exactly!

Bunch of fricking bleeding heart liberals who have never been affected by illegal immigration who have no idea how damaging it is.
