I want Allen Robinson badly.

I feel Nagy is gonna get him the ball.

Targets available (as of May 23): 216 (7th-most), 47% share.

Like the Rams last season, the Bears wanted to get their young QB in the hands of a young hotshot, opting to hire 40-year-old Chief OC Matt Nagy for the gig. Nagy, obviously, comes from the Andy Reid coaching tree, which just produced Super-Bowl-winning HC Doug Pederson in Philly – Nagy succeeded Pederson as offensive coordinator in Kansas City after serving as the team’s QB coach. Nagy was part of the staff that got a career year out of veteran QB Alex Smith in 2017, and turned in the 5th-ranked offense in the NFL, Reid’s best finish in Kansas City by far – it was the first time Reid’s Chiefs ranked higher than 20th in total yardage. It’s obviously worth noting that Nagy was the playcaller for the final five games of the regular season, over which the Chiefs went 4-1. The Bears were correct to be impressed with Nagy’s work with Smith, because ultimately they may have a similar player in Trubisky. The young QB is a very accurate thrower with a solid-but-not-great arm and positive mobility. We’re expecting to see some exciting things from Chicago in terms of formations, backfield motions, and the en vogue RPOs. Nagy also hired former Oregon coach and Chip Kelly protégé Mark Helfrich as his OC, so the combination of ideas here, plus the needed off-season personnel overhaul, could help make Chicago a downright exciting offensive football team in 2018. It’s also one of the teams we’re finding ourselves targeting quite a bit in early fantasy drafts.

Could the Bears be a quasi 2017 Rams?

Fantasy Bottom Line: A-Rob should step into massive target share in Chicago, and he just needs some quality deep balls from second-year QB Mitch Trubisky to potentially get back to his 2015 fantasy form. Trubisky doesn’t have a big arm and may never be a good downfield passer – he’s a “locked front leg thrower,” which reduces the torque on his throw. Still, it’s pretty safe to say he’ll be an upgrade over the 2016 version of Bortles. The Bears have the seventh-most vacated targets in the league heading into 2018 (216, 47%), so it’s a great spot for Robinson to step right in as a target hound. We’re optimistic about the new offense under Andy Reid disciple Matt Nagy, and the Bears are taking steps to take their passing game to the next level this year, led by Robinson. Robinson will likely settle in this year as a fourth-round pick in most drafts, with an ADP between 35-45, but it’s possible his ADP rises if he’s clicking well with Trubisky in the preseason. For now, we view him as a strong fourth-round selection, and we’ll probably sign off on him in the third if his ADP rises because of a productive preseason.

Fantasy Bottom Line: Hilton was easily one of the league’s most underrated receivers in the league before 2017. He finished 5th, 22nd, 12th, and 18th his previous four seasons, and that 22nd finish was due to Luck playing only seven games. So with Luck on the field, Hilton hasn’t finished any worse than 18th at WR the last four years. Obviously, everything with Hilton revolves around having a healthy Luck. Hilton has stayed healthy early in his career despite his small frame, missing just two games in six seasons, including playing in every game the last three years. Hilton’s own durability is a big positive. The Colts have brought in TE Eric Ebron and Ryan Grant, but this is still a very thin and underwhelming receiving corps, and they have 151 vacated targets (a very healthy 32%). If Luck plays, we’re probably looking at 145+ targets for Hilton. We may not know for sure that Luck is good-to-go this summer, but if he’s even at 85%, Hilton is a solid second-round pick. If Hilton’s ADP remains somewhat suppressed and he’s available in the third or possibly the fourth round, then we’ll love him as a pick – as long as Luck is poised to return.

TY Hilton could be one of the bigger steals of 2018

Pittsburgh Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster is expected to receive at least 100 targets this season, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Jeremy Fowler.

OC/HC Dirk Koetter has preferred a workhorse back in his three seasons running the Bucs' offense. Even though Tampa Bay's backfield has been uneven to say the least over this span, Koetter has given his starting back at least 55% of team snaps in 29-of-48 contests (60% of contests). In fact, over his last six years as OC or HC in Atlanta and Tampa, Dirk Koetter's lead back has handled 60 percent of team carries on average. Last year, only five RBs handled more than 60 percent of their team's carries (Le'Veon Bell: 74%; Melvin Gordon: 68%; Kareem Hunt: 67%; Jordan Howard: 65%; Todd Gurley: 62%). Ronald Jones could not have gone to a better team for early opportunities and is routinely available in the fifth-round of 12-team fantasy leagues.

Bad part is, Tampa running backs have been worthless ever since he's been there.

I've seen mcKinnon going in the fricking 2nd round a lot.

I like his potential, but not at that price point.

Emmanual Sanders might be a great buy low guy this year.

Contract year, finally has a QB that can actually complete a pass, he might play his arse off to cash out one more time.

McKinnon is the analytics darling

last season was the first year he was anywhere near the production some have been swearing he'd get despite multiple chances in his career. Now people are playing the dangerous game of "well he's playing, player x's role in this offense" and penciling him in for close to the same production. He's not as good of a player as Freeman IMO. He could finish as a top 10 back but given his ADP there are just better, proven commodities to opt for instead.

Hmmm but who?

For me, I have the #1, and then my next picks are #24 and #25. I like McKinnon as an option there. He’s going to get the touches I assume?

I could see a change of scenery doing him some good.

Who else are good rb values this year ?
I see Lamar Miller going in the 4th.
Chris Thompson was top 10 before the injury. He’s in that 6 or 7 round range.
Ajayi seems to be a good value as well

I had the #4 pick in the Regulars league and took McKinnon with my 2nd pick #21.

The backs I had as options there were McK, Freeman, Howard, McCoy, and Guice (all of those went in the next few picks).

McCoy was not an option for me given his legal troubles, although if that is cleared up obviously he would be a take there (likely wouldn’t still be there).

It is a full PPR league so that hurts Howard, and I just didn’t want to take Guice that high.

So that left Freeman. Admittedly it was a tough call, but I really do see a ton of upside with McK in a full PPR. Freeman has a higher floor easily, but given that I already had Zeke with my first pick I wanted to take a shot on a guy that really has no real competition for touches in a system that feeds the feature back from a coach with a great history.

The more I thought about it and looked at Atlanta last year, I just couldn’t get past the feeling that I just don’t think Sark is very good.

Seriously, WTF has that guy ever done to warrant being considered some offensive guru?? Especially at the NFL level?? It’s a pretty typical Falcon douchebag move to hire this guy when he really hasn’t done anything to warrant that position.

The entire Atl offense suffered last year and while there is probably a SB hangover factor I just honestly think Sark sucks and love it as a Saints fan.

Freeman will probably have a fine season again, but if McK stays healthy I definitely feel like he should do at least as well and I should be looking at RB1 numbers from my RB2.

Freeman has been an RB1 for the past three seasons. Very high floor with the highest ceiling (he was the top RB in 2015).

They were second in the NFL in yards/drive (Patriots were first). The offense was damn good on a per drive basis. They just had fewer drives.

Many coordinators have a tough first year. People were calling for Shanahan's head after 2015. Not saying they will repeat 2016, but your thought process here is weak.
