Looking for unbiased opinions on reseeding

In a league I am in the bylaws state the playoff games should be reseeded but they were not.
The 6 seed played the 2 seed and the 5 seed played the 1 seed
Before the Washington-Dallas game the 2 seed and 6 seeds game was final with the 2 seed losing to the 6 seed
Then the 2 seed messaged the commissioner that the games were not reseeded
What should happen in this scenario?

He should’ve raised the issue before any games were played. I bet he thought he was getting an easier road to the next round so he kept his mouth shut. Now that he lost, he’s raising the issue…

I think there's a strong argument that if these rules were already in place officially it shouldn't matter when it gets brought up. I can definitely see it either way though.

Playoff reseeding is a setting, everyone should check them before the season starts
You can’t say something after the fact. Like the dude could’ve thought he had the easier draw before the playoff game was played. Then raises a stink when he loses? Nah
