Been on RT and realized how much easier it is and how much better it looks than where the league was hosted last year.
Have draft dates been confirmed ???

Anyone know if top6/bot6 is available on Yahoo? As of a few years back ESPN was the only free site with the functionality.
Also please someone lay out the argument for top6/bot6 vs. traditional for me. Some dinosaurs in my local league dont want to adjust with the times. TIA

Yes, you can do it on espn.

Ok thanks. Yep a few years back in datfbl we were able to adjust schedules each monday night to reflect top/bot6

Honk, my League was reluctant to change from h2h too, so we ended up doing a hybrid where it’s weighted 50% for all play and 50% for h2h. Everyone seems to like it and it was easier to get folks on board for those who still value the h2h aspect.

Yeah I've considered that too. What site do you use?

nothing more annoying when you lose a high scoring 1-on-1 matchup and then see a much lower scorer(s) be rewarded with a win.
even though we didn't do top6/bottom6 in that particular league, total points scored (season long total) did factor into the rankings. Better that than nothing at all and just rewarding based on wins/losses.

Yeah that sucks. This format also eliminates schedule inequities. With 12 team & 13 regular season weeks you play everyone once and 2 teams twice. Some teams will get 2 cupcakes twice while others get 2 playoff teams.
I understand FF is partially luck driven but this format at least mitigates some of that luck in at least these 2 ways

One day, top 6 bottom 6 will be the standard format and nobody will remember that a message board poster from Shreveport, LA on this very board started it all.

I’ve seen some that are switching to two match ups a week

yeah... I know what you mean. The last few years (home league) everyone is super pumped on draft night and it was fun. We switched to an Auction draft and that really made a difference.
but.. come week 4 or week 5 and some guys just aren't active anymore. It's not so much b/c they don't have a good team but something fundamental as switching the lineup if someone is banged up or has a bye.
what was even worse is that we switched from Team Defense to IDP! Talk about random luck being involved. I figured out a way to make that work though for me. You don't necessarily have to have All-Pros on your D. For example, a few years ago when Jacksonville was a turnover machine on offense, I'd stack a few players that were going against them each week. No one ever caught on to what I was doing but defense wasn't a problem for me.
injuries on offense or the lame arse non-Top6/Bottom6 format screwed me

We use ESPN and just keep a spreadsheet and standings are sent out every week.

How many times have you scored the second-most points in a current week, only to be thwarted by the top scorer in your league that week? Even worse, other teams score far less than you and earn a win for playing teams who scored the least amount of points! The strength of schedule aspect of randomness can get in the way of the best owners finding their way to the top of the standings, and Apex has resolved this problem.
On Apex, you will play two games per week: one against a random head-to-head opponent, and one against the league average. This not only keeps the exciting head-to-head aspect alive but rewards owners who consistently score high point totals, regardless of what their opponent randomly scores against them.
To see why the two-game week is effective, let’s assume that the Tigers are playing the Bears. Their scores are listed in the table below:
In this scenario, the Tigers would go 1-0 in the standard head-to-head league, which simply is not ideal because they only outscored one team in the entire league.
Since they are in an Apex league, however, the Tigers would also play the average (which is 102.05) and lose.
We prefer our format because the Tigers would be at 1-1 for the week, which is a more accurate depiction of their performance this week. They should not be rewarded for scoring the second fewest amount of points. Their win was simply luck, for they played the only team who scored less than them.
By decreasing the importance of when you play certain teams (something that is completely random), teams’ records will be more accurately depicted based on season-long consistency.
makes sense, top 6 is probably still superior though.

Another benefit, say the taco of your league starts 2-9 and completely checks out the final 2 weeks.. regular h2h league 2 random teams will basically get free wins the last 2 weeks.
While not ideal in any scenario, at least in a top 6/bot 6 format someone mailing it in benefits the entire league equally and doesnt simply gift 2 owners a free win heading into the playoffs
